ernestgoh 0
Hi, I am planning a trip to Yuzawa for 3 days. I read that Gala, Iwappara and Kagura are good place for beginners. 1. I would like to find out if they provide lessons in English? 2. Amongst the 3 resorts, which is the highly recommended one? 3. Also, I will be flying from Haneda. I guess I have to make my way to Tokyo station. Should I be taking the Shinkasen or the train? Thanks!
Tubby Beaver 209
deffo the shinkansen from tokyo station.....70-90 mins depending on what shink u get. Kagura isn't that hot for beginners, although the Tashiro area isn't too bad and just above the Mitsumata Ropeway is ok for beginners. Iwappara is good as it has a wide gerende. I've heard that Gala is actually quite narrow so may not be best for beginners either.
muikabochi 208
Sorry I missed this. For beginners, Iwappara all the way. It's perfect. Kagura isn't really the best for beginners and neither is Gala. Tokyo > Echigo Yuzawa on the Joetsu Shinkansen then the resort shuttle bus to the resort. If that is Iwappara, it's just about 5-10 minutes. http://www.snowjapan.com/e/resorts/resort_map.php?resortNo=
oo 1
Agree with what muikabochi said, Iwappara is almost perfect for beginners with it's huge wide gentle main slope.
