KlingKlang 1
Long shot but this is really baffling. I have been away from my Japan home for a few weeks and got back last night. Put the tv on - Japanese tv ok. But for some reason, when I put Skyperfectv on, the picture appears but not the sound. Same with the DVD player - picture ok but no sound. I tried swapping cables but no luck. Simply can't work out why the sound is ok on normal digital tv but not on the sky/dvd. I haven't changed any settings at all as far as I know! Anyone any ideas? I'm sure it must be something really simple but I just can't think of it!
RobBright 35
have you muted the sky box?
KlingKlang 1
No. The thing that puzzles me most is that the Sky AND DVD are doing this. If it were one of them I might have more ideas, but it's both.
Schneebored 0
Is your property prone to power surges/spikes? any electrical storms recently. Sounds strange if you havent touched it, and it has just not been used for a whilst. Best solution IMO is to just unplug everything. Check all cables and connectors then put back together....failing that just go to the pub.
NoFakie 45
If you've got the right cable, plug your dvd or your sky box sound into something else. Computer line in, for example. Most notebooks should have a mic in.
KlingKlang 1
Thanks, Very strange. Got home today expecting to spend hours on this scratching my head.... turned the tv on and..... all ok now. Didn't do anything! Wonder what was going on yesterday. Strange.
