Slippery Jim 65
Just an FYI: Baird Beers brewed in Numazu won a bunch of awards at some international contest. They have two Taproom bars in Tokyo (that I know of); one in Naka Meguro and one in Harajuku. The Harajuku bar also has yakitori. Good beers (no connection, just letting you know if you're looking for a place to down a few). http://bairdbeer.com/en/taproom/nakameguro-taproom http://bairdbeer.com/en/taproom/harajuku-taproom

thursday 1
I was on their site a butched a poster for their happy hour. Kilkenny 800Y normally 1000Y, and they were pints. So too Guinness I think. Or was that the Irish pub I was looking at.
RobBright 35
yeah, it's tokyo prices - beer is ok, but when you can get the bottles for 350 yen in yokohama, it ain't much cop trekking all the way up to Tokyo.
Yuki's Passion 1
nice. Love some of the micros here in J-land. I am a fan of Minoh Beer: http://www.minoh-beer.jp/ There are two big tastings this year in Kansai. The first one is Sunday, May 23rd. For more info: http://craftbeerlive.blog97.fc2.com/ The other is over the long weekend in July at the Kyocera Dome. Info found on the Minoh beer website. Ive never been to the one in May, but have to Kyocera and there were tons of beers from across the country. Some were amazing - just wish you could actually get your hands on them! Tubby Beaver 209
had a couple of decent ales last night. After trekking round a few pubs to see if they had the Man U game we ended up at a British bar that charges the earth for a pint and so usually we don't darken its doorstep. Very happy I did though, had a pint of Tokyo Black Ale, Yona Yona Ale, Braaten Bier Classic (a german lager, VERY nice) and a Braaten Schwarz Ale. Pocket took a little bit more of a hit than usual at 900 yen for a pint, but happy I did because they were all very good. Had a pint of Guinness as well for old times sakes. RobBright 35
If it's the bar I think you're talking about, they do have some good beers on tap. Roughly the same price as The Tavern in Yokohama. Loved it when they had Spitfire on tap.
Tubby Beaver 209
yeah its about the same price as the Tavern. I was just enjoying being in a regular bar environment for a change. Usually its not that busy, so the fact that its expensive as well, we tend not to go there, but there was nowhere else showing the football.
Slippery Jim 65
CB, Minoh sounds pretty good. I may try to get down to Osaka for one of those. Thanks for the tip.
