klingon 10
I see the UK The Times and Sunday Times have decided to ask people to pay to read. Quote: A digital subscription, giving you access to thetimes.co.uk and thesundaytimes.co.uk is £2 per week. You can also purchase a 24 hour pass for £1 giving you 24 hour access to both websites. Any Times readers here? Will you join and pay, or just read elsewhere? It will be interesting to see how this goes and I'm sure other papers will be keeping a keen eye as well. grungy-gonads 54
I read it. Won't pay at first. Not saying I won't in the future. Will be interesting to see of course how soon all the others follow.
RobBright 35
am tempted by it, if the model was license free, i.e. pay for it on pc, but can read it on any medium I choose. At least it won't come with the stupid paper flyer inserts now.
big-will 7
?? Something about them blocking much of the article being brought into search engine results as well....
Curt 1
How will they 'lock this down' to one, like if I gave my login info to someone else? Is that possible? Will there be basically nothing left of the 'free' versions?
grungy-gonads 54
Dunno about how it all works. But from what I belive there won't be much left of the 'normal' sites, if anything.
