acpowman 0
Aussie Ski Bum your information is incorrect - JAL no longer provides free stopover accommodation in their hotels. It was costing them too much so they changed the time of the domestic flight out of narita so it connects with the JAL flights from Sydney and Brisbane. If the narita flight is full, too bad you have to pay for the stopover yourself. I go back to my 1st post - rules change every year, just because you have been before doesn't mean things will be the same next time. You may enjoy spending hours searching the net trying to arrange your holiday but most people don't have the time or inclination. You may have found a deal on the net last time, that doesn't mean you'll get a good deal on the net next time. A good agent is aware of all deals & specials on offer and has the knowledge & experience to arrange a cheap, stress free holiday for you. Anyway, if you think your getting a good deal that's all that counts i guess. Also i covered the airpass blackout dates on Wednesday in the, "Airfares - Narita to Sapporo?" thread, and have explained there are only 2 flights a day out of Narita, 1 morning and 1 night but flights every 45 mins or so from Haneda. alexx_c 0
Thanks acpowman & AussieSkiBum. Hmm... this whole holiday organisation is doing my head in mostly because each travel agent tells me something different (even the so called ski specialist - can't say I have located a ski-wholesaler though). If only they were half as knowledgeable or open, as most of you here - it will make doing business with them so much more appealing. Too bad I can't make contact with you Acpowman - spending $400 is only a small portion of my current land spend. Anyway, this is what I will do at 9am Sat, call JAL office - confirm that I can stopover in Tokyo buying the international fare for Sydney - Sapporo (return). Once confirmed, I will call one of the flight aggregrators and make the purchase of $4555 for 2 adults and 2 kids. (interesting to see that Quantas fare is only $50 more than JAL - so that should suit someone going direct to Sapporo). After flights have been locked down - I can then work out the Disneyland and Snow Festival itinerary at my leisure! :-)
alexx_c 0
JAL only allows stopover without having to purchase domestic flight... only if it's less than a 24 hour stopover.
grungy-gonads 54
acpowman truly sounds like the best agent in the world. ever! I'm sure glad it's not just some unknown bloke on t'inta. I know a bloke who can offer it all for another $100 less!!! Alx, reality check time - just take a sit down and think about it a bit.
thursday 1
it is good. I'm a bit tempted too.
alexx_c 0
Now... yet another contradictory comment ... JAL tell me that I can buy the international SYD-Sapporo then forfeit the Haneda-Sapporo leg, to buy the domestic 9000yen fare one way... then the agent I try to buy from that from say that it will invalidate my international ticket?!! ??? Confused ???
Tubby Beaver 209
can't you just buy it from JAL when you phone and talk to them?
alexx_c 0
tubby.. true.. but will have to wait until Monday, they were closed at 1pm here. might take up grungy's suggestion ... take a break from this forum and stay away from agents for the next few days. Was out grocery shopping earlier, and caught sight of a sign advertising disneyland (USA) with 4 nights & disney tickets ..which cost less than what I can get with a tokyo disneyland... maybe a 'sign' that I should consider other options when spending 15K for the family holiday. Over and out all.

thursday 1
I had never been in a Disney thing park all my life, until I had my baby. Now, I'm an annual pass holder and go about twice a month. I really hate myself

grungy-gonads 54
On the subject of Disneyland though, I bet the average age going there is 30's. Tons of couples go. And whaty seem like normal hot chicks in their 20's and 30's who suddenly become some strange Mickey Mouse loving mad woman. Totally don't get that.
thursday 1
there are far more parents taking their kids than kids apreciating it. And the 30 somethings? No boyfriend, go find Mickey.

Tubby Beaver 209
Sasuke is that Adventure Course TV show that they bring out once or twice a year, I love that. Watched a bit of it yesterday as well. They usually get well known athletes, sportsmen and such like to compete. kinda like a serious version of Takeshi's Castle
