pie-eater 207
BREAKING NEWS Chelsea's hopes of winning the Premier League have been hit by rumours that Manchester United will form a points coalition with deadly rivals Liverpool ahead of Sunday's final matches. Chelsea need to beat Wigan at Stamford Bridge to clinch the crown but if they fail to take three points, a Manchester United defeat of Stoke will secure a fourth successive Old Trafford title. However, United and Liverpool chiefs are believed to have spent last night negotiating a deal by which Rafa Benitez's side - who can finish no lower than seventh - will donate two of their points to United to give Sir Alex Ferguson a one-point lead and put them in the box seat. big-will 7
Chelsea • Carlo Ancelotti's side have won 16 of 18 league games at Stamford Bridge this season, scoring 60 goals. They dropped points in the 3-3 draw with Everton and 4-2 loss to Manchester City. • Since losing to City, the Blues have won four successive home league games, scoring 19 goals. • The Blues need three more goals to break the Premier League record for most goals in a single season. It is currently held by Manchester United, who netted 97 in 1999/00. Wigan • Wigan's 3-2 win over Arsenal is their only victory in their last six games. • They have lost their last five away matches. • Wigan have failed to win their last 17 Premier League games in London, a run that began after victory at West Ham in December 2006.
