thestonedkoala 0
I have a friend who lives near Morioka, and so it seems a fair few decent snow resorts withing fairly easy reach. I'm planning for a Japan trip next Japan winter season and wondering whether to go stay with him (preferred for a number of reasons - cost, friend, no need for hotels etc), or go up to Hokkaido. What d'ya reckon?

base40 0
Go where your friend is. He'll be able to show you around all the places he knows and there are resorts up there that you can get to fairly easily.
Siem Reeves 0
If you want to save some money, definately go for Morioka because Japan is definately not cheap. Besides the cost, there is great powder in Iwate (the prefecture that Morioka is in, if you didn't know...) and you'll be close to some pretty nice ski areas, not to mention that you won't be that far from Hakkoda in Aomori which has powder like you wouldn't believe - and a lot of backcountry. On the other hand, Hakkaido is definately a place you wanna visit
