skidaddle 0
When based in the UK and skiing in Europe I would get annual travel insurance that included skiing. I'm now based in Japan and am interested in how other residents deal with insurance for skiing here. Can anyone recommend a particular company or policy?
Mike Pow 52
If you're a UK citizen, then I would recommend the BMC insurance.

Thundercat 60
I use Interglobal Insurance. I'm not part of the national health insurance scheme here and this travel insurance seems the most comprehensive. I think I'm registered in the International School Teachers Silver plan. If you are enrolled in the national health care plan you don't need any extra insurance.
skidaddle 0
Thanks for the responses. Unfortunately as far as I can gather from the websites, BMC policies cannot be taken out by anyone already overseas and Interglobal seem to deal in medical insurance policies with no dedicated wintersports provision. gerard 6
So you're not on the national health insurance plan? That one works for me.
dyna8800 3
Do a Yahoo Japan search on ski hoken (in Japanese). There are various policies that cover not only equipment damage/loss, but also liability in accidents. If you PM me, I can help you further, as links are not allowed on the forums.
