swellski 0
Good to see that brings back memories. I went a few years back and it was a really good experience. Definitely worth a visit if you are up that way.
snowdude 44
I must go one day, been in Japan all this time and still not been to the Sapporo ice festival! The pics certainly look very nice!

thursday 1
After a week on show and some rain days, the larger sculptures held up well. While the smaller ones did look a little tired
thursday 1
but there is always food and drink. Finding this place, I was a bit expecting Not this. This was all that was left So had to console myself with some grilled seafood

@tokyo 14
Ah Dragon ball! The look good. Must be difficult keeping them in shape.
foreversnow 5
Okay I may be shunted of this topic BUT while I really enjoyed the snow festival is it something that you would travel wholly and soley to see???? Were there less sculptures there this year due to the hard times?? For us it was good as we were coming to Japan anyway. The sculptures during the day were good but yes I agree that at night the lights really added something to them. Mr Snowhunter was very funny he liked the white clean ones but would even stop and look at the ones that were slightly dirty or melted. Thursday - I actually got a kebab from there - Don't know if it was because I was freezing and starving BUT IT WAS GOOD!!
thursday 1
cool. But I think it wasn't just the scraps left like it was when I got there.
@tokyo 14
When did you go snowhuntress? I would think there's an optimal time to see them (though of course how many there are is another issue).
