muikabochi 208
I wasn't planning on skiing today but couldn't resist Hakkai-san looking down on me this morning with the sun out early on. So I went up there for a couple of hours. Snow conditions - well, it was like April really.... like skiing on granulated sugar in covering a layer of hard icing sugar in many parts and unfortunately the top run is closed off as there is not enough snow up there (it's steep and there are some gaps where the snow has broken up as it melted). So my legs took a bit of a beating. It was very mild as well even up top so the weather felt spring like as well. Very hazy to the south. The mountain was looking fantastic though. Great place, just needs more fresh snow. Here's a few pics.
muikabochi 208
Here's the top run bit that's closed. Can't see it here, but there's a few gaps in the snow just below here
IIIII 2
Nice pics. Is there any snow on the horizon?
grungy-gonads 54
After it snows more, I'm coming up and you can take me there. OK?
SKI 15
The snow in that last one looks very well defined. Hakkai is one of those places that really needs fresh fluffy snow with all it's ungroomed steep areas.
muikabochi 208
Sure just give us a shout gg. Yes, SKI, I agree. The moguls a bit lower down weren't fun I can tell you. I soon gave them a wide berth!
gaijin+nihonjin 0
Best resort in the area I reckon. Good long courses and a decent challenge. After the next dump, I'm going to be there.
grungy-gonads 54
So... are you a gaijin or a nihonjin then?
