parkojp 0
I was at a ski shop in Tokyo today and was told that skis and ski boots should only be kept for 5 - 6 years. After that time the synthetic material in the boots start to deteriorate. Is that crap or is that for real????
thursday 1
the old bright orange diablos used to disintegrate after 1 season. They changed the plastic formula after that and they seem to last a bit longer. Like 3 seasons. UV affects plastic.
Hotaka Scott 0
Just from personal experience, I've got both skiis and boots that are well past the 6 year mark. Aside from the usual dents, dings, and a little odor, they're still good to use.
s3phis 0
I don't think it's unreasonable considering that the constant thermal shock would wear out the polymer bonds as well as what thursday said.
RobBright 35
Guess it also depends on how they are kept - ie if looked after every season then they should last a while.
