grungy-gonads 54
Since I have been in Japan, I think I have received 4 clocks as presents. While getting a present is a fine thing, each one of these clocks has been a monstrosity. Shiny plastic gold/silver, lots of useless moving parts on view, different levels, angels with trumpets, animals. Anything cheesy - stick it into the design of a gaudy clock. I even bought one myself when I first came, it was so horrendous. I'll have to take a photo. Anyone else noticed this interesting phenom?
thursday 1
GG, we NEVER give clocks to people.

thursday 1
to "give clock" sounds exactly like to "accompany to burial" some may like, some may not.
tokabochi 9
Oh gosh. Will remember that! Got a classic myself. Shiny cheap looking gold in a round shape, about 30cm tall, 5 angels, a cow, a sheep, lots of moving parts and a silly chime every hour. The height of bad taste, I have it proudly on show in my genkan.
