BagOfCrisps 24
Hi Good resort to head for --- in what respect? Cool stuff at New Year, or just a cool resort?
thursday 1
There are some places during Christmas and New Year that have already been sold out. Get a move on.
foreversnow 5
GOOD LUCK WITH THAT - We booked in April this year for February 2009 Niseko and it was already starting to fill up. I think you are going to find it's not where to go but what is available that will decide your trip.
Tubby Beaver 209
I'd hazard a guess that you can get a place on Honshu no problem, maybe not in the main area in Hakuba, but probably nearby. Nagano has loadsa quality resorts, the only prob being that they are quiet at night time.
stemik 14
Still a few places left in Hakuba for New Year, though these will sell out in time....get in there quick.
TheOrange 0
New Year: Expect - higher prices at accommodation and crowded slopes Just after New Year: Expect - much better deals and less crowds on the slopes
2pints-mate 0
Also expect more drunk people than on an average day.
thursday 1
not really. Everyday is a drunk day when on ski holiday.
Nisoko 6
Not for me actually, though that would mean pretty much every day I like to ski with a clear head.

I'm with you in spirit Thurs, but anytime I've actually been away on a ski holiday (and not the odd weekend while living here) I have only had a few drinks before the day's exertions make me wanna crash. I've heard from some friends of epic apres nights in Meribel, like an 18-30 on snow party, but I simply couldn't do both and for me, if I wanted to party all night on a holiday I'd go somewhere hot during the summer. Winter hols for me are about one thing, boarding! I'd love to do both but I'm too much of a pussy!!!
iiyamadude 6
Same here, though as I'm a local (near Nozawa / Shiga Kogen / Myoko) I don't often stay places so I kinda miss out on all that lot.
