beefnski 0
Hello everyone, I want to know which Japanese ski resort has the steepest terrain, with special consideration given to a relaxed off-piste policy. I want to know where I should go in Japan to ski if I am looking for lots of tree runs, deep powder, steeps, and CLIFFS! Thanks!
Yuki's Passion 1
Nozawa Onsen is pretty sick in all those regards. (Although Ive never toured there) the terrain is sick, some wicked cliff bands (check out Icon 4 and 5 dvd), and the powder is pretty damn nice too. Never had any problems with patrol there. On top of that there are free onsens all over the town where you can soak yourself for free with all the boiled eggs.
Mike Pow 52
Can only speak for Hokkaido and the only 'resort' that I've visited that fits the bill is Kurodake. More than enough of all of your criteria to keep you happy. http://www.sounkyo.net/english/index.html http://www.snowjapan.com/e/insider/photo_section.php?userGallery=198&userid=journey_man And there's a thread of info on here and resort info in the main Snow Japan site. Fattwins 0
Just inside the resort Relaxed patrol. Nozawa Onsen Tenjin daira Happone Myoko Touring Hakubas resorts offer the countries sickest BC access. Tejin provides good BC but a bit harder exits Myoko limited BC but still nice and uncrowded Kurodake in Hokkaido has potential but it closes mid dec to march (or there abouts)
