veronica 2
I was interested to see in another thread about "southerners". It seems many countries have this northerners/southerners thing going on. What about yours?
JA2340 16
In OZ, all peeps from other states are treated with disdain. Queenslanders are "banana benders" - or "cane toads" Victorians are "Mexicans" - they are from 'south of the border' Tasmanians are generally ignored until they make a fuss about their island being left off the map South Australians are "crow eaters" - dunno why Westralians are "Sand Gropers" Northern Territorians are "territorians" New South Welshmen are "cockroaches" - again dunno the origin. brit-gob 9
Is there a northerners / southerners thing going on in Japan? The only one I know is Tokyo / Osaka....

Definitely. Tohoku people are widely regarded as slow bumpkins. Soubriquette regards southerners as inexact and volatile.
