NoFakie 45
The middle bit of 47 opened on Nov 4. It was the Monday of the three day weekend. The quad started moving on the following weekend. Happo has the gondola, the Usagidaira lift and the top quad going most of the year for hikers and tourists. These lifts were still going when the snow arrived, and I think they started letting people ride Usagidaira unlimited times for one ticket on Nov 2. These lifts then closed a couple of days later for the pre-winter maintenance, part of which raises the lifts higher off the ground to allow for snow accumulation. IIRC, Happo opened for winter before the end of the maintenance, but they started with one of the Sakka lifts. Some of the hotels around here are normally closed during the last couple of weeks of November, which shows you how unusual the snow was last year. We had our first significant ground frost on Monday morning, but it has been very mild this week. Heavy rain and 12 degrees C (!) at the moment.
