LAB 0
Hi there We recently moved to Asia and are not yet familiar with Japanese ski resorts. Hoping you can help. Are there any resorts that are open for skiing in mid November? Would like to take my husband for his birthday. Unfortunately leaving the trip until the season is fully into gear is not an option. Thanks for your help.
Fattwins 0
Not really any resorts open at that time other than a man-made strip.
thursday 1
And unfortunately, even if there was enough snow, the lifts wouldn't be working until the season fully opens.
tsondaboy 0
Some seasons with notable early snowfall some resorts opened in mid November. On an average season very few resorts open at the last weekend of November and most by the end of December.
gerard 6
Yep, and even if they say the starting date is Nov. 23th (for example) that only means that they'd LIKE to open then, if there's snow. Come to our great country, but don't come for the skiing until the end of December or later. (Singapore--Good place. Love the food!!! )
Tubby Beaver 209
The food places in Little India rock!!
Fattwins 0
47 never closes if there is snow they will have sking
muikabochi 208
Naeba has 17th November down as it's opening day but be very cautious about that. It is very likely that it will be warm with not a sign of real snow apart from a few hundred meter course of "home made" stuff at the bottom of the hill until weeks after that date. LAB 0
Thanks everyone. Doesn't sound very promising, Nov is a bit early. I have another question....what is '47'? Sorry, showing my lack of knowledge. And I agree, the food is great in Singapore. My waistline can confirm that!

Markie 0
Kiroro in Hokkaido is usually the first resort of natural snow to open in Japan every year and they usually open in mid-November.
Hokkaidough 4
But it's usually not really worth it. Just for the headlines.
