Markie 0
With the Australian dollar appreciating and the Japanese Yen depreciating, travelling to Japan must be quite an attractive option for Australians these days. I just changed some Aussie dollars I bought several years ago back to HK$ this morning to take advantage of this high exchange rate. That should cover all me for all my ski trips for a whole year. indosnm 0
Oh it's just bloody fantastic! NOT Great for the tourists but I wonder if there will be any effect when the rate comes down to a "normal" level.

NoFakie 45
Japanese tourism to Oz is supposedly down about 8%. Some people have blamed it on an poor ad campaign (the "where the bloody hell are you?" one), but I reckon it will be high prices due to the weak yen. The skiing angle on this will be whether it affects Oz-Japan flights. Japanese demand will be much important than Ozzie demand. On the whole, exchange rates have been very volatile recently. The pound went from 238 to 223 in less than a week, but is now back up again.
