scouser 4
Another computer issue. If I go to, say, microsoft.com and click on Office 2007, it takes me to the Japanese version of the page - and there doesn't seem to be a button to get to the US or UK versions. The same thing happens with some other websites, including google. I presume it's because my computer is a Japanese OS and Japanese software. But is there an easy way to stop that happening? Thunderpants 0
hmm Google is easy. enable Google to set a cookie on your system. (if you don't know what cookies are, go read some manuals;)) click on the little link that says "Google.com in english" after that you find the "Preferences" link on the front page (just to the right of the search field) and set your options: Interface Language and so on. At the bottom you click save prefs. your preferences will then be saved in that cookie. It is possible that you need to lower your browser security for Google to set a cookie. Microsoft.com i am not sure about. but for a start you could try clicking on the "Countries and regions" in the left menu row
jgraves 0
I was told that that was the website reading your IP address as being located in Japan and adjusting accordingly. You mean it isn't?
YellowSnow 0
In Internet explorer you can change the order of languages used. In the Tools > Internet Options window.
scouser 4
Thanks, I didn't know about that setting, YellowSnow. I found a link on the Office page as well it was in the top left rather than the left menu.
