Class C is the "softest" of the drugs, canabis, steroids and tranquilizers. Usually just a fine but can get up to 5 years for posession, and can get up to 14 years in the clink for intent to deal.

A includes heroine, cocaine, ecstasy, amphetamines. B constitutes most;y barbituates and some amphetamines (speed).

Oh thank you George.

I walked out of a shop today in a busy central shopping district in London and standing right outside, 6pm in the evening, were two everyday looking people dressed in business attire smoking a huge joint. The guy was in a suit and the girl was in equivalent clobber. They looked about 35 and were just chatting away with the very strong pong of dope wafting around them. In the middle of a super busy sidewalk. WTF?

In your 15 hours of interviews that you mentioned on that other thread, did you and they honestly appraise your history of drug taking? If I was interviewing somebody, being able to talk about that would be a good 'test' of who I was getting.

Not at all. I'm seriously curious. As your anecdote shows (and as we all know), drugs are quite prevalent in most walks of life. I just wondered if management at big employers recognize it as anything other than a problem.

You weren't? I thought your post was quite a clever construct myself. Oh well.

To your question, I would imagine that a very significant percentage of people in 'big business' indulge in some kind of secret activity that happens independently of the work place and no one ever interferes or wants to know... so long as there are no negative implications at work. This might be drugs or cross dressing or who know what. Employees keep secrets from employers. They have to.

As for drugs, I am totally out of touch with consumption habits by professionals, besides the fact that I almost never socialise, it is a taboo topic for me at work. If people start to talk about it I either change the topic or engage in something else. Basically, I don't want to know what should be their secret.

Celebs do drugs and get media attention for it. Societies undesirables do drugs and get derided for it. I bet there exists a big void of unspoken habit in the middle.
