TheOrange 0
I thought this could go in a new thread. Recently I've been noticing some real bad habits with my jogging, the main one being me seemingly crunching up my toes while I'm jogging. No idea why I do it, but when I think about it I release them and things are much better. Kinda stoopid thing to do. Any good tips for your excite jogging life?
kintaro 0
I've done that too, TheOrange. Can't explain why. But I only do it on a treadmill...not out on the street. When it starts feeling uncomfortable, I stop.
soubriquet 0
I noticed that I had some bad habits, so I gave up jogging. That was in 1969, and I've been feeling much better since.
oo 1
Curiously when I was jogging I noticed that too with the toes.... (Perhaps our trainers are a bit too big?)
Weegeoff 0
I had some bad habits. My toes curled but I grew out of it.
TheOrange 0
Well good to hear its not just me. I was thinking I needed tighter trainers. But I'm not keen on them being tight.
kkk 7
How tight do you have the trainers? In the past I had some that were really roomy but I preferred tighter ones. I presume it's not good to have too much space.
TheOrange 0
Another weird one - clenching my fists. I realise I'm doing it. Stop it. A minute later, there they are clinched again.
Yuki's Passion 1
You sound pretty tense mate - your upper body should be really relaxed and loose when running. Id suggest stretching and learn how to stretch properly too. If youre feet are clentching up, it sounds like your shin muscle is tight. Try to stretch before your run and after. Also, maybe a five minute walk around the block/tanbo to get the blood flowing and shake out your arms/legs - I even suggest getting a Yoga book. Yoga is a wonderful way to loosen your body and relax. I picked up a Yoga DVD/book in Hiroshima at the Hiro Eki bookstore on the 10th floor for like 1200 yen. Great book and goes from learning how to breathe during stretching/correct posture/to really advance yoga. Hope it helps and let us know how it goes
