oblivion 5
Check this out http://www.sky.com/skynews/article/0,,91059-13377104,00.html "Bee lover Mr McCabe failed in his attempt to wear the world's biggest bee beard. Up to 500,000 bees were supposed to crawl over his naked skin." Nuts!
NutteyCubey 0
Google that for pics and you'll see quite a few people seem to like bee beards!
sava 0
I'm a bee keeper and I have to say that it's nuts.
echineko 1
You keep bees?! Is it for honey?
sava 0
I do keep bees! I get a fair bit of honey from them - it tastes pretty good too
big-will 7
So tell us more sava. How many bees do you have as pets then?
sava 0
About 50,000 (one hive with two boxes)
veronica 2
Wow. Remind me not to visit you! I'm not a fan of bees (understatement there) or any other big flying insect for that matter, the further away the better. Aren't you tempted to try the 'bee beard' then sava? sava 0
veronica: They're a fair way from my house (about 100-150 metres) and the hive is faced in the opposite direction --- we tend not to get too many bees near the house . I'm not tempted to try the bee beard, one time when I was 15 or 16 years old I was careless and I got bees inside my veil. Ended up being stung a bit under ten times on my face. Ouch
Yuki's Passion 1
Thats pretty cool sava. Bring some honey for us over the winter when youre in Hakuba How does one start keeping bees?
sava 0
I started doing it at high school. To actually start at home, you need to find somebody willing to sell you a colony/hive.
GOOF 0
I was stung by 4 bees when I was a little kid and had to be rushed to hospital - quite serious it was. As you might imagine, I'm not keen on them scare the hell out of me actually.
sava 0
When I got stung on my face it was pretty bad and I lost a lot of my entusiasm. I still do it, but not as much as when I was much younger
akibun 0
I can't believe people do that!
