jeremy chatterton 0
ive noticed all the good boards have very little flex. whats the advantage of that?
mfurmane 0
stiffer is faster usually, but that is all i can come up with... Maybe stiffness offers some benefit in the terrain parks?????
kintaro 0
what do you ride rangoon? I think the Burton custom boards are quite flexible. My first board ever was a French board (original sin) and it was pretty stiff. But why, I don't know.
powwwers 0
"very little flex/stiffness" , (or `pop`) basically equals stability. also good for edge-to-edge riding and for holding lines in turns,ie. they tend not to `wash-out`. stiff boards are also recommended for high speeds as `soft/flixible` boards are likely to get tha `speed hops`. hope that helps
Dokumanju 0
what powwers said +1 - a stiff board isn't necessarily faster, just feels safer. oh, and a flexy board is a little easier for beginners.
