  1. Geeze, Chris - you really know how to make people go "Awwww !"
  2. When I built my old house (now going on 30 years ago!) we bought a spa bath for the main bathroom. It came as a single fibreglass shell, with plumbing, electrics and pump all ready to plug into wall socket, drain and water pipes. Fit onto a timber frame, which was then clad with blue board and tiled. No silicone at all, except around the tile/bath joint on the walls, and that only as insurance, as the bath had a lip that was expected to stop water going through to the wall. Sadly, ex inherited that place as part of divorce settlement, and has since been sold.
  3. and no spoilers, either! Agree, human babies are NOT beautiful - not until they fill out a bit and start to become human. Wrinkled and red != beautiful.
  4. Looks to me like it's a single unit, pre-manufactured (probably fibreglass) with all the jets plumbed, and the heatin elements and filters already there. Just drop it into the position, hook up water lines in and drainage out, plus electrics for controller to pump, heater and anything else you have (like DVD player?) and then build the enclosure around it. Just HAVE TO make sure that you, or your sparky & plumber, can get to the pump and controls for future work.
  5. You can get these to clean up horse droppings in the paddock, so no reason they couldn't be adjusted to pick up balls (golf balls, that is!)
  6. True, the term here in Oz is "spa bath" which neatly avoids the use of trade name. I suspect that any manufacturer would be wary of using "jacuzzi" in their name/description because of the legal implications.
  7. Lots and lots! They sometimes have a slope to a collection spot and a conveyor system to return them to the counter. Others just use a bloody big vacuum.
  8. TAFKAT is an anagram of FatKat. Something in that for us all, no doubt!
  9. Pretty sad when a newspaper has to claim to be "serious". What is NOT serious about transmitting news to the populace?
  10. He's now 95! Had a good innings, despite the maltreatment he suffered at the hands of the apartheid regime, and deserves to rest easy. Unfortunately, I feel that the media will hound him until he finally passes, then they'll be all over his family like jackals.
  11. When I was teaching, which is now some years ago, I was in the classroom daily from 0900 until 1530. Averaged 1.5 * 40 minute lesson free each day, with a 20 min morning tea break and a 40 minute lunch break. That was Secondary school, and I was required to patrol the playground each day from 0730 until 0900 (or at least be available for students to call on if there was a problem). Dunno what that equates to in hours lesson time, but I DO know that Primary teachers here (even with Relief from Face-to-Face [aka RFF] time, which is, from memory, 1.5 hours a week) are in the classroom for fa
  12. OK, shamed me in to it ... looked at that fluffy duck, Awwww ... cute!
  13. So long as the oil is not one of those "natural" deck oils - they all have an orange tint to them that just removes any actual, natural colouring. Had a deck finished in that crap, looked like someone had spilled orange jello all over it, very little original timber colour left. Spent an age sanding it back and then re-finishing with a clear finish.
