Still a fair way for me but the few times I have beenm to Akita I have really liked what I saw. (And not just the bijin). Another city I like that isn't that far from where I am in Sendai. Cood city that.

I pretty much missed all of winter. I like Alts Bandai though good place when the snow co-operates.

How was it in the end then? I had to be dragged away from Japan for pretty much all of winter.

I have. And its a great area. The 'problem' with Tohoku is that the resorts are spread out and transportation is certainly not easy for newcomers. And the resorts are just on a different scale. Places like Hakuba have a number of good choices all within easy reach of each other.

Well this year I am going to try and get some weekdays off but usually weekends. I'd much prefer to work some weekends and then have some other days off. I'll only really know in December probably. Lets keep in touch nearer the time.

It depends. Alts, the resorts around Bandai, Inawashiro. Sometimes I go up to Yamagata as well.

I don't particularly like shaking hands -- just after toilet or not. It's not a good idea.

The towers of Tomamu! It's in Hokkaido. Lovely. We need some of them on the Matterhorn for sure.
