  1. Have had 8days so far. 2 at Nozawa, 2 at goryu/47, and 4 at Tsugaike. Hopefully 4 more at Nozawa, if the snow lasts until late March! Not bad considering all of those fields are about 700kms away.
  2. Sk8man, thanks alot! All these sites are awesome. I was kind of blinded into thinking cricinfo.com was the be all and end all. That sounds about like what I remembered for a really good score. And coming from Dean Jones it would have been well at the optimistic end of the scale!
  3. Yeah I remember that, it was Kaluwitharanan(?) right? God I miss cricket so much.
  4. Thanks! I will check out that site in time for tomorrow. So many places seem to have it but block it for people outside of the country. It was an incredible game. Is it just me or did scores in one day cricket not used to be so high? I remember a time when 250 was a great score, but that is nothing compared to the totals they seem to get these days.
  5. I'm dying to listen to the cricket tri series in Aussie, anyone know an adress or something for a link on the net? I am kinda getting sick of watching the commentary update itself line by line on cricinfo. Slow start by the black caps but what a game yesterday! I am picking the finals to be huge. bond rested and styrus back, NZ will take it in the third game for their first ever tri series title!
  6. Thanks everyone. Actually he is in pretty good shape now, just mild discomfort. If you saw him now you wouldn't believe his injury was that serious. He is stuck by himself in a hospital for up to two weeks in Matsumoto probably going out of his tree with boredom! I picked up a psp for him before I left so hopefully that will ease the pain. He can't be moved until they check him again and the bleeding in his brain has dissipated. The Japanese drivers... oh my god absolutely infuriating! Basically all the way from Hakuba to the entrance of the expressway was bumper to bumper, so we were dr
  7. Just thought I would share a story about my weekend boarding up in Nagano. Was a great weekend, about 10 times as much snow as the last time I went. Perfect blue skies and a good time had by all... apart from a mate of mine who is just learning. I was on the learners slope right at the end of the day on Sunday when I saw him walking down with his board off. He said he had a pretty nasty fall and hit his hit on the snow. So we told him to go back to the hotel, drink some water and have a lie down. About 30 minutes later I was having a beer in a cafe at the bottom of the slope when an
  8. I actually looked into it further, and it was gonna cost 20,000 in drop off fees to rent a car in osaka and drop it off up north So we are gonna take the day bus to matsumoto, check out that castle, and then train it to Nozawa. Thanks for the advice though, will come in handy next time. Lets just hope the snow comes to actually make the trip worthwhile!!!
  9. And what is it with Japanese skifield cafeterias serving up such stodgy fare? All I feel like doing after eating that crap is heading somewhere warm and going to sleep. It'll be conbini riceballs all the way for me this year.
  10. So I'm going to Nagano from Osaka in a few weeks time, I'm looking for some advice about driving there. I don't want to take the overnight bus because one of us is likely to be stuffed from a long flight. The train is very spendy. So I was thinking of getting a rental in Osaka, driving to Nagano station, dropping off the rental and then taking a bus to the field. It's going to cost about half as much as the train once we split the cost of car, tolls and gas. hopefully we will also be able to check out the castle in Matsumoto on the way. So what is the expressway like from Osaka to Nagano
  11. Yeah I agree about the ollie, thanks. I have never even though about trying to do that.
  12. Thanks everyone, sounds like great advice. I have 5 days to practice it all over christmas in Nagano... bring on the snow!
  13. Im definetly up for that! I intend to board as much as my wallet allows this season. Might try out some of the closer fields this year. Its definetly worth it, but a weekend to Nagano with two long nights on the bus and then back to work on Monday is a real killer...
