  1. Your best bet to find out if it's for real is to accidently bump into her.... again and again and again!
  2. Slightly off topic but still topical..... in october 2000 a Slovenian guy skied down from the top of Everest at 8848m down to a base camp around 5000 and something meters. Obviously not for everyone - ha ha - but you don't get much higher! Link about it all - http://www.everest.simobil.si/eng/default.shtml
  3. Where is good to go night skiing around Hakkuba? Mid-season panic that the end is coming means that I want to get in some hours of concentrated improvement so I can really push on my full days at the weekend!
  4. 81 of 180 of my first year (JH) were off with the flu on monday so they had their ski trip for yesterday and today postponed... Gives me more to time to try and persuade them to take me though!
  5. I'm just wondering if anybody knows what this new drink called Scorpion that has appeared in 7-11 recently is? I assume it's new (or maybe I never noticed it) but it's red in a bottle can with a big black scorpion on it..... I think it's an energy drink and tastes pink (if that makes sense) and am just wondering if I am doing irrevocable damage to my liver or something by drinking lots of it - it has some very odd possible warnings on. Must learn what these squiggles mean!
  6. Was in La Plagne last year and was caught out by the late night ski lifts. If you are drinking in a different bit of the resort, especially if lower down than where you are staying, make sure you figure out what time the bubble shuts (it was 11 something last year). We managed to miss the last lift and ended up having to walk up the piste to get to our appartment.... No idea how long it took but do remember stumbling through hotels and using their lifts to get out at exits higher up the hill! Snowboarding was awesome though and there was good good alpine food (none of this MacDonalds hal
  7. Ok, a little dispute (over 20 yen) needs to be settled! What are the animal tracks that can often be seen under chairlifts? I heard snow pigs yet am told rabbits? Any ideas?
