Limit of one kit per person. The kit can be included as one piece in your free baggage allowance. If the one kit is in addition to the total free allowance, a special rate of 33% of the standard additional baggage rates will apply. Additional equipment is accepted at standard additional baggage rates.

Qantas have told me that only one board, boots and bindings are to be packed in each bag. They even made me unpack my boardbag once at BNE and repack all my crap into plastic bags!

I always fantasize about it on the drive to rusutsu. Awesome looking slopes....serious avalanche terrain though.

The two step ladder thing is a funny one.... Here in OZ you can't use a three step ladder because you are not allowed to stand on the top or second from the top step of a ladder so effectively on a 900mm high ladder you are only able to use the first step, as the first step is useless for pretty much anything they completely banned the three step ladder from commercial sites. Ladders higher than that can be used but the user must maintain three points of contact at all times....ie two feet and one hand so basically you are forced to work one handed if you are playing by the rules. Been there..... Yes they are strict. They didn't catch me but I did develop a few 'tails'. You need to know a decent circuit and then blitz it so you can always be one step ahead, if you lap you will get done for sure.

BP, I thought taxation might be the big difference....we do get taxed pretty heavily here in OZ. Most of the time I was up in Hokkaido and I never really looked into rent etc, just the usual economic indicators like maccas and beer.

Rusutsu is a very nice resort for intermediates.

You can get a K winter pass that from will let you access Rusutsu Resort, Sapporo Teine, Sahoro Resort and Nakayama Toge Ski Area. Not a bad range of options if you are based in Sapporo! K winter pass

Mine are either a weekend or a 4 week stint.

I think in bodybuilding they have a clean division but there is still some conjecture as to whether the 'clean' guys/gals are actually clean.

Also, the visibility is almost always good, so on those stormy cloudy days you can ride fresh pow till your hearts content while on the groomers you cant see jack.
