I am with spook on this one and the shrieking like banshees, just last week I was at a Watami izakaya and there was a group of young woman who were in the 125-135 db range, seriously a Harrier Jet could have parked outside the building and you wouldnt have heard it. 4. Billy Poole died this afternoon from injuries he suffered after jumping off a cliff while filming in Utah with Warren Miller Entertainment. The Salt Lake Tribune reports that “Poole was filming a jump, had a bad landing, and possibly hit some rocks.” that sucks, its a fine line those guys ride.
  5. I was sent to Sunday School as a kid, my parents never went to church themselves but they sent me to Sunday school nonetheless; for me to make up my own mind about religion and also I guess to get a general all round education. If you live in a pre-dominantly christian country it makes sense to know something about the background of it all. Since Sunday school though I can cant the number of times I have been to church on one hand. I once went to the new life church out of curiosity with my friend, that was an eye opening experience - the evangelical, pentecostal style.

  10. You guys can have Russ, we wont quibble of him.
  11. nah I would wager director Peter Jackson. in different fields different people. for example music/opera - Dame Kiri Te Kanawa pop music - Neil Finn. acting - Tem Morrison or Cliff Curtis, Sam Neill sport - golfer Michael Campbell. Rugby - Dan Carter AJ Hackett is well known to very few people in the world. Russell Crowe is Australian, even he sayes so. Plenty of famous deceased New Zealanders. Sir Ed is in some pretty esteemed company in that list.

  15. ...they have, everyone has, they love it! are you for real? Melbournes finest on display there!
  16. AFAIK big chain gyms dont take cash and require a direct deposit from a bank account - any bank account. Holding a gun to your head requiring a specified C/C is just bizarre and over the top. Perhaps they highly recommend that you get the C/C but if you dont want you can get out of it?? how hard did you push the point?. Legally seems a little odd. Badmigraine might be able to help - I see he's floating around the forums again.

  19. yeah BoC my friend brought some Walkers potato "crisps" over recently I had tried them.....not good at all, worse than the Japanese ones, too salty and bland tasting potatoes.... I have heard several Brits rave about Walkers, I think you are bonkers really, you need to get out more. Smith's. I vaguely remember them trying to break the kiwi market in the early 80's, I got a red sun visor in a campaign they had. They never took off though.
  20. this was my one before I put my Ed Hillary tribute one up
  21. In summer during university holidays I spent 3-4 months on road construction crew, my kit: stubbies and a tank top! My shoulders were black and my legs had the rudest sock line, it went from brown to white, looked hilarious in jandals These days I just dont care about tans, I wear long sleeve T-shirts and 'past the knees' baggy shorts. I wear a rash shirt when swimming and a hat when outside in the sun. My mother has had one melanoma cut out of her, they cut out a big ole chunk of flesh with it too and old friend back home also had the exact same thing done last year. I am prime candid
  22. Top Gear is a great show, cars and humour at the same time, just this evening I was on train watching Top Gear on my PSP: the episode where they trashed the 3 old British Leyland cars. It's so hard not to laugh out loud and contain your laughter when something is so hilarious, the people around me must have thought I was mental or something!
  23. passed away this morning aged 88. Sad day for NZ and the mountaineering/adventuring world.
