Nice story, oyuki; finding a good punk band/scene is always special. The Souls show had a good bit of friendly moshing going on. One little Japanese girl kept ending up on stage, simply because she was so small and easy to throw up there. One time her shoe must have come off while she was crowd-surfing because she ended up on stage with a shoe in one hand, just pumping it up and down. Here are a couple more shots:

I hope he at least comes back for the promised season end report with full-on powerpoint diagrams. I eat those up with a jealous appetite.

I've been to Taos twice and it is indeed breath taking, in more ways than one. A friend ski-bummed there for a few seasons and said they closed off the mountain once a year(?) for a staff only day (restaurant employees, patrol, etc). A good percentage of the staff would bring boards on the mountain.

CB: I still have 2 Lucky Dube CDs that I'll let you borrow if we ever meet. He performed at the Live8 concert in South Africa; there was a video clip floating around these internets some time ago. Would have loved to have seen Alpha Blondy live.
