  1. Oh, YellowSnow, you caught me there. Took some time to decipher your subtlety though. Gotta reset my spellcheck function.
  2. Damm, I somehow got roped into this one. Here's the deal we worked out. I'm buying the beers for Thursday over this weekend. He's giving me the console to take to you, Fatts, and I'm collecting the beers at Hakuba in exchange. I hope it's ok to check-in that thing on the plane. It isn't too fragile is it? I don't want to hand-carry that into the cabin.
  3. No, Nagano is definitely not out of the question, especially if you will spend at least a night. From Nagano station, there are buses to Hakuba and Shiga Kogen which are great resorts I can recommend without getting into trouble. The bus will just take a bit more than an hour from the station. Another alternative is to take the ski-buses straight from Tokyo which will get you right to the resorts without having to change trains/buses. There is also an overnight bus option which gets you to the resort early in the morning if you don't mind sleeping on a bus.
  4. If you are only doing a day-trip, I suggest you go to Gala Yuzawa instead. You can ski straight from the station. I could also suggest Karuizawa which is less than an hour from Tokyo and you can also ski from straight from the station there, but if I do suggest that, I will get in big trouble, so don't go there.
  5. Let's NOT beat that this season. I didn't like skiing in the blizzard in Niigata last season.
  6. Sahoro to Tomamu you can definitely do by train because the Tomamu lifts go right to the station. I also remember there was a shuttle bus to and from Sahoro resort and Tomamu as well but I don't know if that's still going. Furano is not that near a train station but they do have shuttle buses from the train station to Furano, so you will need shuttle-train-shuttle for a Sahoro Furano commute. However, I remember there was also a bus that does the whole Sahoro-Tomamu-Furano circuit. That's probably your best option for Furano. You could do the same for Tomamu but I suggested trains because of t
  7. Nice blue skies and sunshine over Habuka this morning and Happo is showing it has already been well riden on. In Kiroro, though, it's Oh-Yuki.
  8. Go ahead and use mine if you want. Just remember to put a little wax on them and sharpen those edges before I get there.
  9. CB, are you following this properly. I DON'T HAVE her number. She has mine and I didn't have to nerve to ask her for hers. Anyway, already emailed you a pic. Now please, more snow and snow talk as recommended by FTs to cover up my wussyness and forget about this episode.
  10. You may have a point there, dizzy, but I'm still trying to work out the method in this madness. Let's see now....I take Japanese classes and Chinese girls give me their numbers....so I must be barking up the wrong tree???? I know! I should take Chinese classes!
  11. Well you know our dates and I don't think they will cross any black-out days.
  12. Indo, that's probably one of my many problems. I'm hard in the wrong places at the wrong times.
  13. Don't worry, dizzy, I'll take any of those Tsugaike tickets off you if you want. If not, Fattwins you might think of picking up a stack of those for my group who will be spending at least a day at Tsugaike. I'd be interested in any similar offers for the other places as well. I remember when I first came to Hakuba with my group, we spent considerably more than we had to on lift tickets because we were buying one-day passes each day at a time and not getting any special offers. We didn't even get the discounted passes from Mominoki even though we were staying there.

Now that I come to think of it, in that J-class I mentioned, I sit right at the back and two of the 3 girls in front of me also asked me for my number and gave me theirs (without my asking) but they never called me nor did I call them. I guess there's not much chance of getting a call this time and I've probably already blown my only chance of asking this girl out....the only one in the class I liked.
  15. Smooth sailing for me, Kumapix, but it was almost like cheating since I had already passed the Level 3 last year and was just redoing it for fun....definitely no where near ready for Level 2 yet. Tokoro de, I am really really glad I took the trouble to take this test because... and this is gonna sound like a script from some soap but it happened to me....While I was waiting outside the test centre before the start, just minding my own business and revising last year's paper, an attractive girl approached me and said "hi". Turns out she was a student in one of my J-classes months ago. I had a
  16. Of course I do, especially after doing that JLPT today...... No actually, that's just an excuse. I always want a F.....

  22. Right now I'm revising and listening to last year's JLPT listening section questions. We really need a good thick base in Hakuba. I'm still worried about the forecast temps of up to 11C for most of next week from Suiyoubi. If that warm spell doesn't take a hike quickly, I'm gonna be in deep shate.
