  1. Quote: It would be more interesting/constructive to view the statistics if major components of bias were transparent (ie. opinions vs investment in program). Agreed, that would be more interesting. It still makes your initial "judging by the poll results, around two-thirds of respondents..." rather worthless.
  2. Hmmm, where in the poll does it specify the points believing that JET was: - a waste of money; - provides next to no benefits
  3. Quote: Answer number two is the default answer for anyone participating in the jet program who has any sense of self-worth. I totally disagree with that.
  4. This is funny, they can't call their kid "Superman". http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/3701802.stm
  5. Not sure but it sure sounds good. It's at last getting cooler now, once these strong winds move on the weather should be really comfortable for a months or so.
  6. "If you are a teacher at home..." >>> at home being where?
  7. You are a funny individual aren't you? Quote: help you to feel better about it without addressing any points of substance... Nooooo, as I said, I thought it might be a good idea to get the general opinion (instead of just a few strongly opinionated and vocal people). And it seems that it is getting a response from people as well, which was the whole idea behind it. Over to you and your 'wit'.
  8. I saw that a while back, it is really bad. Clooney looks suitable embarrassed. Having said that, all the Batman are crap...the only good thing I can remember is Michelle Pfeiffer in the catsuit.
  9. OK so there's lots of discussion in the other AET thread, I thought it might be a good idea to get the general opinion (instead of just a few strongly opinionated and vocal people). So - JET Program - good or not
  10. Quote: .....when I got curious about why I was lined up for a shafting So you got shafted then? Is that where all this bitterness is coming from?
  11. You're so clever. I'm glad you take such care in whatever you and other people post on an internet forum. The attention to detail when it's not necessary some might find admirable, I'd say it was a waste of time. Nothing better to do?? Do you have a job?
  12. I like and enjoy my work, and I do more than is asked of me. Ocean11 would seriously be the manager from hell! (if he were ever lucky enough to advance to being able to be in a position to manage people apart from your family)
  13. As if I want to "make any difference to you" Whatever is said, it is clearly obvious that you will just carry on with the same ramblings about 'internationalization' that you persist with.
  14. September 22, 2004 - Tuesday will be a day long remembered at retail outlets. The combined release of The Star Wars Trilogy and the Star Wars Battlefront videogame on Xbox, PlayStation 2 and PC platform yielded $115 million just on day one of their release. 20th Century Fox and Lucasfilm won't say how many units were sold on day one. At $50 a shot, that would mean around two million copies of the Star Wars Trilogy DVD, give or take a little for Battlefront.. The DVDs shipped to much of the world on Tuesday, only Japan, Australia, Mexico and some European countries remain.
  15. My employers know pretty well how utilize me and I know pretty much where I stand too and what is needed. And what I do is of genuine value. Not that I really personally care, but it's pretty insulting for someone to say otherwise, without knowing all the details about me and my situation.
  16. ....or they can do their best to do their job, make a difference, enjoy their time, enrich the lives of the people they affect, and then move onto something else using the experiences they have had during their time as an AET....
  17. Funny, some years seem to be worse than others for some reason. But there are quite an increasing number of fatties around.
  18. I join in when I want to (about 2 days a week maybe) but not forced to - that seems to be the policy round here.
  19. They did that for a while here actually but seemed to have stopped it. I never saw anyone taking their bags with them.
