Lift from Osaka to Hakuba on 22nd Feb?
hughcohen replied to hughcohen's topic in General off-topic discussions
so the more I look at it, the more unlikely it seems that we can get from Osaka to Hakuba on the evening of the 22nd. Our flight arrives at Kansai at 8pm.. all the car rental places close at 8pm. The overnight bus leaves Osaka city at 9pm (too early), and the Shink to Nagoya probably doesn't run as late as we need either. What time to trains stop running in Japan normally? The Shink to Nagoya, transfer to Matsumoto, then transfer to Hakuba seems like the best option to me. Pray for snow -

I wonder if it's possible to rent a car in Osaka, and then drop it off in Hakuba or thereabouts? Matsumoto is pretty close to Hakuba right? hmmm.. -

Yeah, dude we did meet up I'm sure.. the year before last. I hit up America for a few weeks last year. Heading back to Japow this year, can get return ticket to Osaka for $680 including tax, OUT OF CONTROL!! hehe. My other option I guess is to hire a car, and head for Nagano, or even Hakuba. Can you hire a car in Osaka and drop it off in Hakuba or thereabouts? Most of the car hire websites are in Japanese... -

Don't know Osaka unfortunately.. we'd be getting in at 8pm on the 22nd, so probably easier for all if we get an overnight bus instead. Thanks for Offer -
Hey all, just wondering if anyone's driving from Osaka to Hakuba on 22nd Feb? Looking at flying in then, happy to share fuel and driving. 2 people need ride. cheers. I guess the alternative is get the shink and transfers, i looked it up, seems like that option takes a little over 4hrs. Is that right?

Nice work fellas.. I'm almost at crunch point, I just don't know where to go for skiing now. Is it on in Hakuba? Are the fronts lining up finally? Two weeks till I go, haven't booked a thing, cousin wants me to go to Utah with him, another mate's keen on Hakuba.. HELP! -

I'm unsure of what to do now.. My cousin who's living in the UK wants to head to Utah or Colorado for a few weeks, it's looking good there. Or I can head to Hakuba where the season may or may not kick on, hmm.... -

In Sydney, taking holidays end of this month, probably head to Hakuba.. if it doesn't start snowing though, I might go to Red Mtn or something like that instead, or maybe even hit up Alaska. Wait and see. Do you get plenty of time to ski being a teacher? -
I got a gift certificate from work for Christmas, it would go a good way towards buying a nintendo Wii system.. not sure, might just buy some shoes and clothes though, hhm...

good to see someone back online, how's Canadia treating you? -
how accurately do the motion sensors work, do the controllers register very small movements too, or do you have to move them a fair bit?
