  1. Those pants are hitting the auction they make me look fatter than I am
  2. Touring the Brokers I have now been touring the new Broker prototypes for about a month. As far as I know I am the only one consistently touring on these skis. The tours that I have done have varied from 30 minute quick accents, to full day, full on touring. My set up Broker carbon prototypes Marker Duke Bindings Skin Col Tex (they suck) Boots Techica Diablo This is not the lightest set-up. I prefer performance to climb ability when conditions are good enough to still get into the bigger lines. The skis The Broker Carbons are very light for an
  3. After a long hard satifying tour on your Bro skis a beer is always a good call! The Japanese beer machines are always a plus and in great supply. Thank the heavens they make the room big enough. If you cant buy a beer and walk back to the car then you may as well just drink water!
  4. They have and will remain so if people in the cities dont turf the LDP! Things have to change they just re-cemented my lone yaking river so it has even less water right now!
  5. You are dealing with rural politics now. The LDP throws money at rural infrasture to prop up their standing. Rural people tend not to really care that the countries fiances are a mess. There are areas in rural communities that have roads but they wont be cleared buy public money. These roads are considered privately own or privately shared. When you buy a house outside the city you have to look into this situation and consider it.
  6. TorF True or false. If you break down the prices at Deer Valley you will find them expensive with no real options. I am surprised the local government hasn't stepped in a bit up there. Hope it doesnt end up like naeba and the surrounding area I hate that look and feel.
  7. Im not talking Niseko right now. I dont think the prices are in line with the other resorts in the area they are slightly higher. That and the fact that they own lots of lodges there insure that the profits go directly to the resort. The Golf courses there are top notch too! Talking Niseko now. I bet you will see 100 or more new apartments this season. Looking at the net shows more and more sales. TorF?
  8. Tickets are but one source of revenue for the resort. Deer valley owns many of the hotels or has stakes in them. Look at the prices they are quite high. You wont see a mid level earner at DV unless they really really want to ski there. http://www.deervalley.com/vacation_planning/lodging.html
  9. deer valley charges a fortune though and they own most of the hotels and etc around the resort.
  10. That price will kill growth. There has to be a happy medium when it comes to pricing.
  11. Since you are a lower level skier find which place fits your travel route and go there. nightlife wont be great but the food will be good. once you choose a place people can point you to some good eateries.
  12. Look at these place and see if they fit into your travel route Shiga kogen Hakuba Kagura
  13. Im not turning into its bigger than mine. Someone asked who got nailed and Myoko got nailed hard this season. As for snow Feb was a flop for you guys when you really sit back and look at it. Half the snow you got was reported to be blown off of the mountain. You can float it all you want whichever way you want to but Feb didnt live up to the hype of guaranteed snow in Feb. Mountains are mountains sometimes you get hit and sometimes you dont! Just ask Thursday.
  14. The Niseko now reports arent glowing with bottomless reports in Feb. The reports from the guides up there werent that good either. Myoko got slammed this season.
  15. Yeah but while you got shafted other places got slammed! 276cms front loaded means JFA to the guy that books the next week.
  16. That is a good part of my point. The international market is is profitable for some, but is it profitable for the resorts?
  17. It all depends on the season and this season feb and and march tanked it in Hokkaido. You are dealing with mountains and the weather plan with that in mind.
  18. The problem is and you really aren't looking at this the right way. The domestic market is a very high % of the day ticket sales. Without those sales you have no resort and no upgrades to the lift infrastructure. You need a strong domestic market for the ski resort. A strong inbound market is good for the hotels. This is so true in Japan where the resorts really don't own any of the properties or land in the area. I for one and all for less resorts that let the stronger resorts prosper and grow. Im not a believer in the apartments will save your resort strategy either. You end up h
