  1. Dude, yep .. my mistake, what was I thinking. Economics is a failed system. Shinpai nai. Gomen nasai !
  2. Unfortunately, with the domestic market declining, in the next few years many resorts and ' hills ' will close. This is unquestionable. Simple economics. Management practices here continue to ignore the successes enjoyed offshore, and blindly run their mountains into the ground. With the fantastic terrain and snow quality found here, it is simply a disaster. Watch Kiroro.
  3. Promoting a product domestically, to a market totally disillusioned by its 'fun vs the cost', together with poor, no commonsense customer service thrown in, will really turn things around ... The 'Resort' industry here getting together with thoses helpful government bodies to butt heads .. WOW ! Let's bow alittle lower and make the onsen water more refreshing. Hey, Gaigin san is powder lover ... Kokusai resoruto make big money ... nande ? Sad " title="" src="graemlins/cry.gif" />
  4. Read my earlier posts my friend. SKI do we work together ? You remind me of the many mental giants that I waste my time with everyday ? They actually pay for my advise, amazing is it not. Given they will consider it, except it, but nothing is ever done with this advise. The every people who NEVER actually use the facilities they manage, or the facilities of successful operations abroad. SKI, I am fully aware of Japan's population, speak to a native about the sentence that confused you. Will you be attending Friday's meeting ?
  5. Quote: It is just so easy to critisize an organisation from the outside without knowing much about it or the circumstances in which it operates - any fool can do that... I'll make it simple for you SKI. Lift tickets purchased in this country for the last 12 consecutive years has declined. FACT Lift tickets purchased in US, Europe, Canada, Australia in the last 12 consecutive years has increased. FACT SKI, given the quality of the snow, the avaliable ski hills close to billions of people in this country, how would you rate management in this industry ? Frankly, their
  6. Quote: You certainly live up to your name there.... Yep, 18 years working in the industry all over the world will do that .. so yes, I am crazy about skiing. Quote: How is this relevant? You think the foreign market is big enough ... Hmm, did the Japanese motor industry think like this 40 years ago ? How many people are there in Sth Korea and China again ? How many Kiwis and Aussies head to Nth America and Europe each year just to ski and snowboard ? Quote: There seem to be some resorts that are making the effort - look at the ones that are doing positive thing
  7. I think the larger resorts in this country have a few major problems ... and anyone who has worked in any of them would agree. Firstly, management believe guests visit their resorts to rest, eat and enjoy the onsen. Period. As an after thought, they may ski and snowboard. Secondly, the management, the people who actually make the decisions would not know the difference between a ski and snowboard. They do not ski or snowboard. Thirdly, international guests are a problem. Resorts here do not want foreign guests to visit. Their focus is domestic. Sad. " title="" src="g
  8. Yep, WB has great terrain ... but Enjoy the humidity and endless days of rain, even in January. Their marketing will not tell you about that. Teaching in the rain to people paying a fortune to be there ... .. the world`s most over rated ski resort .. sorry. Ever been to Hokkaido ?
  9. English native speaker, with experience ... is there any ? Anyone know .. Deebee, where will you board ? .. Why ?
  10. Everyone enjoys skiing and snowboarding here, but noone takes lessons ??? WOW Is it the cost ? Or the teachers ? Or you also don't take lessons back home ? Tks
  11. Ok .. Has anyone taken a lesson here ? Good, OK or bad ? Anyone ..
  12. Snowsport School ?? Which one ? Looking for a place to spend a week in lessons. Prefer native speaker, but a local who can say good and better will do What is your experience and recommendations ? Done Club Med ... not the greatest teachers and prefer ryokans. Does anyone go to the same place due to it's teachers ? Any help greatly appreciated
  13. 'going back to the states to do some real skiing' Hey, listen champ !! Don't let the door hit you on the ass on the way home. Be sure to tell all your mates what a terrible place this is. Idiot.
