  1. Yuki... I am passionate about fatty's.
  2. Re. Yahoo No shit ocean. That makes me sick. What about all the other lives? We are so conceited.
  3. Nice response miteyak, NoFakie and Yuki's passion! The ignorance in not understanding GB's motives is our problem. He is using this situation to aid his agenda which is disguised as the work of a hero. George Bush is just as much a part of "the axis of evil" as the rest of the world leaders. GB wants money to go to the military and he is using the inertia of Sep. 11th to keep it going with Iraq. He still has not given anybody a good enough reason to attack. I am so happy to see smart responses to this issue. When dialogue like this presents itself I am amazed at how many people bust out progre
  4. I was in New York when it happened and I was supposed to fly back that day to Seattle. It was strange. All of my friends wanted to go see it and it pissed me off because I never want to be an average curious idiot who just get's in the way. And I also was kind of put off by the vigils at the site doing nothing but satisfying American people's addiction to sensationalistic voyerism. But later I realized that all that shit was bringing people together in a positive way and that was pretty great because that's the whole point of life. So I went in to town and I am glad that is an experience I wil
  5. Hope I don't steer you away but it's hell. I finally got legal for everything two days ago. I can stay here for 3 years and work legally. Wooo hooo!!! It took about three months and a lot of time in immigration. It depends on how your trying to get your visa but if you ask me the only way to go is to get someone to sponsor you and then they do all the work for you. You just sit back and wait to get your visa. Nova is a good school to get you here because they set you up to live here with little effort on your part. Once you get here you may want to look for a different school to teach for, tho
  6. I hope I'm not pushing this subject but I'll go every freaking day if I can find a place to teach English where the Mt. is 15 minutes or less away. Any ideas? Incentive... If anyone hooks me up with the info that get's me there, you've got a free place to crash when you go ride! Word? Word!
  7. Wizz, That dream speaks volumes about you. We should ride this winter!
  8. Is there any other way to make cash in or near a resort (snowfield? sorry I'm from Seattle.) Are there any places like Whistler/Blackcomb where the town is big enough to warrant a NOVA branch? I assume most of us are teaching English. Maybe we should all get together and create our own English school (simply all of us under one name to look official, but no more than taking on private students while pooling resources). I am a designer so I could make a sick web site and identity. I just have to find a way to ride at least four days out of the week here.
  9. My dad put me on skis when I was three, so I grew up on it. Ten years ago I went out and bought all new ski equipment. Spent a fortune. The first day up with new gear I noticed a snowboarder who did the most gracefull trick and decided I needed to try it. Luckily it was my birthday and my girlfriend bought me a board. I never used skis again and two years later quit my full time job so I could ride every day. Snowboarding makes my blood boil with tingling excitement. The only thing skiing ever did for me was get me to church (the Mt.) I know many skiers that feel the same about skiing for them
  10. When I first started riding 10 years ago (when bindings had yet to be perfected)I wore a leash and then my board actually tore away from my boots in a hard toe side on a mugul and shot off down the hill. My saftey strap had snapped due to the force. I got new bindings and have never used a leash again. Whenever the lifty asks I just say yup and pull up my pant leg and they always seem satisfied even though they don't really see one. This trick has worked about 50 times without incident.
  11. I can't wait in lift lines for more than 5 minutes. Are there any riders out there interested in hiking for freshies? Anybody know any sweet backcountry here in Japan?
  12. Alright cheeseman, sup with all the questions and lack of content? If your all up on that cheese tip then how bout kickin us down with some tasty cheese recipes? Let us not forget about cream cheese. My favorite is a turkey cranberry and cream cheese sandwich. MMMMM. Nuthin like the sweet curdled nectar from the teet of a cow.
  13. Native of Seattle, 4 months in Tokyo. Will be here for a year.
  14. I am currently living in Tokyo, teaching English but really want to find a resort to kick it in for the winter. I am from Seattle and will miss Baker, Blackcomb and Stevens this year. Any resorts where teaching (English or snowboarding) is possible? My biggest problem is I don't speak Japanese. Considering my roots, where will I be happiest? Thanks!!!
