  1. Just heard a great quote. "If this was a one dayer Harmison would still be in his first over!" Love it!
  2. Yeah that first ball of the series was memorable for all the wrong reasons if you are English. Harmison bowled rubbish all day yesterday. He's gotta lift today if the Poms are gonna get into this game.
  3. C'mon Aussies! Let's redeem ourselves and win back the urn. 2 tests Australia, 1 England is how I think it'll pan out. So looking forward to watching it at Paddy Foleys tomorrow.
  4. No brainer. Go to Niseko. Probably any other resort in Hokkaido for that matter, too. Mid December on Honshu is risky and so is Hokkaido, but way less so. You're almost guaranteed of good to excellent conditions at that time of the year. Speaking from experience I've had awesome powder days in Niseko in mid December on 5 seperate years.
  5. Checked out the highlights of game 2 on youtube. Plenty of biff! Felt sorry for those amateur Irishmen getting hammered by those suddenly big balled AFL players. What annoyed me most was that all those Aussies who were dishing it out to the Irish are the same players that you wouldn't see anywhere near the hardstuff in an AFL game. Weak as p**s!
  6. Congrats Bushpig! Bit late I know but cricket has consumed my summer so back amoungst sjf. You called it at the end of last season too. Fantastic game of footy and what can you say about Judd? Played almost the entire second half after dislocating his shoulder! Not only is he a skilled genius but he's one tough captain. Let the dynasty begin!
  7. Whistler/Blackcomb is the best place I've been to. When I was there I used to chill out in the hotels communal hottub after each day and there'd be people from all over the world in the bath. General concensus was Whistler was the best anyone had been to. Whole package: terrain, lengthy runs, village and nightlife!
  8. Good place to nampa a few bikini clad uni students!
  9. Lyndon. Don't waste your time at 47 or Goryu. There's so many other better resorts in the area like Happo,Iwatake and Tsugaike amongst others. Enjoy!
  10. Unfortunately I could be done and dusted. Have been saving bickies for trip to Thailand starting this Fri. When I get back I could do a day or two up at Kagura depending if they still have snow. Depressing..........
  11. Yes, I agree. Very wrong to rent out dangerous equipment but getting back to the main point. A true beginner doesn't know what is bad or good equipment so if they rent out some gear, stand up and have a good day then they'll be happy(and sore) regardless of what they've ridden on.
  12. Defineately doesn't exist. Love is all encompasing. Mind, heart and body. You truely can't love someone by just looking at them. Lust is another story. I've lusted over so may girls after a mere glance but never loved them for their pure physical beauty. Yep g-g more interesting than work for me today, too
  13. Dorikins just trying to fire some of us up. Nobody could be that obviously dimwitted. Even a culturally insensitive crim.
  14. Very true echineko. I had an awesome December and early Jan but after that it was a pretty average season or below average in fact. Maybe I was just unlucky in my timing but in Feb I lucked out in the really good powder days and March so far too. There were the deep days that I read about here of course but they seemed very few and far between this Feb and March in Hakuba and Niigata compared to a usual winter. Thoughts anyone?
  15. Yeh you're right about the test attack. Sweet forecast! I just love beating the Proteas. right up there with beating the Poms.
  16. 3 years old. Pure white deck with the half an eye ball design in the middle between the bindings and the one word burton/canyon, depending which way you look at it, logo. The Frontier 66 sounds like the goods. Unless I'm riding powder the 168 can be hard work on the thighs throwing it around on piste all day.
  17. The Aussies did well last night ay? and it seems they weren't negatively effected by that ODI blitz especially Stuey Clark
  18. How do people know what quality gear is if they've ridden it all their life? Gotta start on the low quality to understand what good quality is. It's like surfing, you don't learn on a new board. You get your act together on a cheap pig and then buy a new one. You really appreciate the money you've spent and can notice the difference and where your hard earn't has gone.
  19. Yep. I watched the Aussie innings at a bar in Tokyo and left after the 50th over as I thought that we can't possibly get beaten after hitting 434! Still can't comprehend that we lost after that kind of score. Well done SA though.
  20. Very handy SB Manic. Ta. Paid 8000 per nite at a minshuku in Nozawa this year with brekky and dinner which was OK but the cheaper the better.
  21. Haven't thought about that useage of flange for years Bushpig! Brings back some fond/humorous memories. I have been living in Japan for too long!
  22. Everyone has gotta start somewhere and thats fine, we've all been there but one thing about beginners that I don't understand is why so many of them go out and buy the top of the line board, bindings, boots etc! There's nothing I hate seeing more than someone who can hardly stand up decked out with the latest, top of the line gear. I just think it's such a waste. When I started I bought the cheapest board and binding set I could find, used it for a few years, got better at riding and then bought the good stuff. Riding then took on a new dimension with quality equipment. Just had to get that of
  23. I've had a burton canyon for 3 seasons now and it's by far the best board I've ever owned. Much better in pow than the custom. Never had a problem with it. I've had the same mission bindings for 5 seasons now and apart from a broken strap no probs. I'd buy burton boards and bindings again. I've never owned burton wear or gloves and I don't think I ever will as I think this is the area where they let themselves down in quality. I've seen my mates burton gloves go to crap in a season and the wear just looks and feels flimsy.
