  1. i like to get about 9 to 10 hours a day. Usually an afternoon nap before the kids get home from school. At weekends it slips to about 6 hours - I like to watch the soccer on TV
  2. Congratulations Tubby. It was great to meet you and your beloved in winter. Enjoy your big day.
  3. That steak and onion one may well have been stemik. In fact, it might explain why it wasn't as good and up to Wigan standards.
  4. A very good win for Man City. It is going to be an interesting few weeks.
  5. Stemik Jr had a tricky operation. Children have growth plates that have a risk of not growing if they are damaged. The ACL had snapped off the top of the bone on the tibia. We had difficulty finding a specialist that would operate, to bring back stemik jr to his level of racing. Luckily we found a specialist only 90mins away. The surgeon had to drill a small hole (1mm) through the growth plate a tie up the acl and bone framemt to the tibia. For the first week he had x-rays every other day. Now about once or twice a week. To be honest I think he should have come home after a week or two
  6. Hollands' steak and kidney pudding are something that I miss. Maybe Accrington make better pies than Wigan.
  7. Thanks Mr. W. He is now into his 5th week in hospital. Hopefully home before school starts in April.
  8. the mobile phone owner bought some chocolates to say "thank-you"
  9. i once found a 1000yen note. That got handed in to buy my lunch!
  10. in the last 5 seasons. I have found 3 x lift passes 1 x Iphone 1 x mobile phone Of course i hand them all in.
  11. I awlays thought this was a cool song mmmm mmm mmmm http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vIbcqgXh5-4
  12. hey thanks everyone for the kind words for Stemik Junior. He is recovering well - now in his 3rd week in hospital. It was a tricky operation with growth plates in his leg being a major obstacle. Luckily we could find a very good specialist in Matsumoto who had done the same operation on a kid before. Next year he is going to win the Japan Cup (his words not mine)
  13. All this talk about moguls, makes my knees hurt. I had an MCL operation last year - This season I can only ski for a few hours at a time. My son who is only 9 broke his ACL in Nozawa this February. He has had an operation and currently in hospital. Any other SJers have problem with their knees?
  14. I was working for a certain Hakuba ski school a few seasons ago. I had a booking for private lesson for two days. A good intermediate skier. He wanted to learn how to ski moguls. My knees haven't been the same since. I practically gave up instructing after that.
  15. They don't groom the steep part directly in front of the downhill start shack but the rest of it down Panorama is groomed. Chriselle -that is the ladies downhill.
  16. On the men’s downhill it is groomed until you hit the last steep part of kokusai. This only gets groomed once or twice a season. Though in fact I haven’t seen it groomed once this season. It surprises a lot of first time skiers/boarders on Happo On the lady’s downhill the top part doesn’t get groomed. The middle part, Panorama gets groomed everyday. Lower down, after Panorama restaurant, usually gets groomed on Friday and Saturday evenings.
  17. He hasn't done much with Argentina though. That should be benchmark if he his the greatest.
  18. Wow, Messi scores 5. Many are calling him the best ever.
  19. Yes good effort by Arsenal. But keeping up that effort for 90mins was asking too much.
  20. The snow walls around Hakuba are not as high this year. It has been a strange year, we have had plenty of top ups but not the huge snowfalls that regularly come in winter. On the drive through Otari, next village to Hakuba, where Hakuba Cortina is located then the snow walls are much more impressive!
