  1. Ahhh Bushpig. The imagery is, well...
  2. Both good vids. Second one about as "dry" as sandpaper facial wipes to be sure. Love the quote about the loss of freedoms & liberties "You sir, have befouled that spring". Will the history we read in 20 years will either smite GW, or be some Moaist-esque homilies to the Dear Leader in the War on Terror? I'd like to think that conspiracy theories about the Bush administration are not true, but I remain unconvinced.
  3. Thanks guys. Good advice Indo-actually just relishing the chance to spend time looking after her. So far no grumbles or tantrums about missing mummy yet, so she must enjoying the novelty too. My wife was more sore today off course but they are sorting her out well with drugs to take the edge off things.
  4. Thanks ger. I'll update later-got some childcare to do now. She hasn't shown too many signs of missing mummy yet, but I doubt that will last when she tires of this clown...
  5. No.2 girl was born just after lunch today & I was sitting chatting with her Mum until 11:00. All went swimmingly and she's a spitting image of her sister when she was born. Mum is fine and was in no pain this afternoon, though that will definately change tomorrow. I am relieved, feeling great and enjoying some quality time with No.1 girl. Life is good.
  6. Yeah I've been waking up just before my alarm recently. For the next week I can just go to bed and get up when my daughter does. It's going to be nice having a 2 year olds schedule with a guaranteed 8 hours sleep.
  7. How many sleeps till the first day on the mountain? Maybe 60 odd for me...
  8. I missed that pig story. Freaky huh, I thought there must be a heap of them up that way. I ran into (well nearly) two snakes last weekend.
  9. Not a stupid question. She's booked in for a ceaserian sp? Once you've had one you have to have another as there is a risk the original cut will split.
  10. Yeah love it too. We've been having one every week since halfway through Sept. Yummm.
  11. jealous to hear about some of these late starts-I'll be one of the first geeks in the office at 7:30 again tomorrow morning. Morning is so much nicer if you're up for leisure reasons.
  12. During the week I usually have to get up around 6:00 am, some days I can sleep in to 6:30 but rarely much later than that. It's OK but means I have to go to bed pretty early to compensate. Was speaking to a guy who owns a bar the other night and his time schedule is the flipside of mine. No way I could handle that sort of lifestyle. I expect there are quite a few people on here who get up early. Touque, you were usually up early when you were in Japan I remember. Ideally I'd at 7:00, do some exercise and then start work round 10:00, but...one of these days. On that note it's time f
  13. Yeah ditto that from me and my wife. Congrats TB and anyone else I've missed. We're set for no.2 this Friday afternoon. Excited and busy gearing up plus a little bit nervous of course. My wife is not looking forward to the pain and I can't help thinking how I get the easy part of the whole deal.
  14. I had a great dream about snowboarding sometime during the end of summer. Can't remember the details but it was some awesome tree riding or soemthing like that. Since then I haven't, but I always feel pretty happy when I do have a good snowboarding dream. Off to bed soon so here's hoping. Too many work dreams for my liking recently-just nasty that is.
  15. I'd be more impressed if the record was your number of appearances in porn films. Nonetheless, well done FT! Now, back to slagging off Niseko...
  16. Sorry, NYear there will prolly be stuff going on whenever as it's the big break.
  17. You mean Echoland/Misorano area right Tsondaboy? If you stay round either Happone or Goryu instead then it's not going to cost that much to get cabs out to wherever there's any nightlife going on anyway. Just don't expect that much to be going on midweek as a rule of thumb.
  18. I saw an ugly emo girl today, she was wearing those black and purple striped stockings that Japanese emo girls seem to all wear. At least I think that's the emo look. Isn't emo the name of a Seasame Street character too?
  19. I remember well db. I was just thankful at the time that you couldn't see my pen stash, in the front pocket of the polyester shirt I always wear under my jacket.
  20. I thought the article was OK. It came across as a first time visitors account written in a travel writer style. I've moaned about cliched "just out of the set of Bladerunner" type writing before, but maybe that's the point about travelling to somw place on a touristic short holiday. Your impression is always going to be snippity, relatively shallow and perhaps full of cliched imagery. This is tourism, not real life.
  21. The ultimate cry for attention or a clever ploy? It's easy to write the Norks off as a bunch of loons because, well...they are in many ways. Even so, this could turn out in the favor of preserving the regimes' legitimacy and negotiating power. 50 years of stalemate seems to put "military solutions" off the table from the US point of view. The fact that they lack missile delivery capability, at least for now, is kind of reassuring.
  22. Ballpens that don't work properly. To what purpose exactly are these pointless pieces of plastic made? I'm talking about the brand new ones that may work at certain angles or for a certain time. A disturbing number of pens fit into this catagory. You'd think priority no.1 in the pen making biz would be to ensure the thing works. Erasers on the end of pencils that create a mess when used are just as mindless.
  23. Goths in grunge/post punk influenced threads listening to angst rock/pop. Is that it?
  24. Nice one Matt, well done. I'm starting to seriously think about buying in Hakuba too.
