  1. Thank you very much, Mamabear. Your comments are appreciated. I think I will have that big glass of alcoholic stuff right now. Have a good weekend.
  2. Quote: bottom line, everyone will critique a website, so matter no matter what you do, someone is going to give you crap. Yes we can vouch for that! Offer them free holidays and some people will still give you crap! haha
  3. skidaisuki, I believe that you are the one who has emailed us about this once or twice. (Correct me if I am wrong). If you do not like our reporting pages, please just don't read them. At least please do not come on here and make fun of them in public... on our website! They may not be perfect, but I think we have the right to be understandably not keen on people being over-critical and sarcastic about small non-factual details when we know the huge amount of effort, resources and committment that goes into planning and posting them each and every single day for up to 5-6 months a
  4. You can see the region here: http://www.snowjapan.com/e/japan-ski-town-maps/niseko/niseko.html
  5. We will take regular photos as important events unfold at this important location.
  6. This season we've got a handful of hotel package holidays and over 200 lift tickets lined up as giveaway prizes. First one of the season already up and running, of course: http://www.snowjapan.com/e/insider/special.php You'll have to wait a bit longer to hear of any other contests that might be going on.
  7. With our new photo system this season - the photos now don't lose any quality when uploaded (they are uploaded "as is") - hopefully the overall quality will only get more and better!
  8. SnowJapan Yuzawa Photo Contest 06/07 - The Results Here are the winners* of the SJ Yuzawa Photo Contest 06/07. The winners were chosen by the friendly people at the Tourism Association in Yuzawa from valid photos uploaded to SnowJapan last season. Just to be clear, the names of the photo files and SJ members were coded on the photos submitted to Yuzawa - making them totally anonymous. There was no favouritism and no bias - just the photos for Yuzawa to choose the winners. Each of the Yuzawa lift pass voucher prizes can be exchanged for a one-day lift pass at any of the s
  9. Well to respond to your comments Bushpig, if no-one else is going to point out that you can upload to SJ effectively supporting us and everything we do (indeed ultimately these Forums) in the process - but suggest other places instead - then perhaps it is left to me to do so....
  10. But if they are snow photos, did I mention that you can upload them to SJ?
  11. You can upload them anywhere of course, but we would be a little bias in suggesting you upload them to sj... then other sj'ers can enjoy them as well as them being linked up to resorts etc. It would make us happy too. It is really easy. Make sure you are registered and logged in: http://www.snowjapan.com/e/insider/register.php http://www.snowjapan.com/e/insider/login.php and then upload them, up to 5 at a time, here: http://www.snowjapan.com/e/insider/photo_gallery_image_uploader.php
  12. But if they are Japan snow photos, please upload them to SJ. That would be nice. Thanks.
  13. after the URL of the photo. The URL of the photo will look something like this: http://www.snowjapan.com/myphoto.jpg
  14. ger, I agree. Having regulars on here in all different regions of Japan is a great thing. But this is totally up to them. If people come on here and almost right from the start cause problems, start and relentlessly continue flaming wars - and then start taking multiple swots at us at the same time - then what can they realistically and reasonably expect? Anyone is welcome on here if they just agree to and act within the guidelines we have.
  15. Quote: Let's just leave it at that rather than continue to let this forum degenerate into a flaming shit-fest. We will not let that happen, Bushpig. No more flames in this (or related) thread(s).
  16. Gala Yuzawa usually closes in early May, but they may well be working with less staff for the last month or so. You'd better ask them directly.
  17. Back to paying full price after that 1 month.... please remember.
  18. Hmm, ok. How about 1 month using SnowJapan FOR FREE and call it even - deal?
  19. OK. Sorry about that - that particular data is unfortunately beyond our control (see the info about daily reports linked to on that page) and there is sometimes a bit of a short time lag in info being updated - we ultimately rely on resorts - and also the web monkeys who do those updates may have been taking an early onsen. http://www.snowjapan.com/e/daily/webcam/nagano/snow-monkeys.html
  20. Yes. Read and bookmark http://www.snowjapan.com/e/daily/yuzawa-now.php http://www.snowjapan.com/e/daily/naeba-now.php
  21. I think that photo in the first post on this thread was taken by SJ1 near his house in Shiozawa. All of the other photos in the gallery were taken in various places in Niigata (mostly Yuzawa and Shiozawa) and Nagano (Nozawa) and a few others I think that I can't quite remember right now. http://www.snowjapan.com/e/gallery/index-snowy-japan.html
