  1. The last time I used it I was in very heavy and very slow traffic all the way from Yuzawa to approx 50 kms from Tokyo.
  2. Does seem a bit weird to have snow skis on a dune buggy at the beach. A surf board would be to big, maybe there should have been water skis instead.
  3. Except for the bit where he bombed it looks a bit easier than previous years. This used to be on TV in NZ, with an English voice over.
  4. Good guess, not actually part of the Kusatsu resort. Slack country behind out by the lake at the top of the mountain

  6. Every now and then there are reports in British papers of someone finding some ancient artifact in a farmers field. The interview with the guy (it is always a male) usually mentions how they have been detecting for X years (X always seems be be a very high number) and this is the first time they have found anything worth while.
  7. 634-maru, how about this for your new car. Won't be around till 2016, so plenty of time to save up.
  8. The next gnarliest run I've been on is the eagle (hawk, large bird) run at Sky Valley, the steepest part is 32 degrees. I've been down it twice and both times were by accident. Near the top is a turn to another run that cuts across the mountain. Twice in limited visibility I missed the turn. A combination of being narrow and steep meant I spent more time on my bum than on my skis
  9. Looks good. Might I suggest a few extras? Toe clips for the pedals: these help position your foot correctly on the pedals and saves having to have proper bike shoes Handlebar extensions: Gives more options while riding. On a long ride just a change in hand position can be as good as a rest The angle of the extensions can be changed to match with your riding style. a mudguard for the front wheel. At some stage you are going to be riding in the rain. A mud guard ensures the worst of the water the front wheel flicks up won't get to you.
  10. Have to check this out. Currently going to Gunma or any where in that direction involves a drive though Tokyo streets. Last time we went to Kusatsu we spent more time getting to the horror highway than on it.
  11. This Dilbert cartoon sums up many of my experiences ringing tech support http://www.dilbert.com/2014-06-29/
  12. Is that LaLaport Ski Dome, the one they knocked down and replaced with an Ikea
