  1. That is slot of money. But if it was used to heat the house in winter, then it it well worth it. I hear lots of health healing claims from drinkingdry onset water. True or just a load of blow water?
  2. Furano is a regional capital. Plenty to do there and plenty of resorts nearby for day trips. Just look at the mountains surrounding Furano. Beautiful.
  3. We have been getting typhoons out of season and have seen them slam into Taiwan and Japan when they should have come our way. It's been twisted this year. The snow should be too.
  4. The Japanese Ecconomy Tough one, otherwise all those "wise" economic narrators would have been proven right. My viewpoint, from the bottom of my well: Japan should print money, in exactly the same way the US are doing. Devalue the Yen at the rate controlled by the mint. In that way, the currency is controlled by Japan, not by the US bully boys. Exports would then be more affordable to the ret of the world. Revamp the stone age banking system. Allow OTC foreign currency investments, allow people to diversify their investments. People are alreay savvy investors, let them have l

  6. You being a beginner/intermediate, are forgetting one important thing. Lessons. Rusutsu charges around 14K for a 2 hour session, Tomammu similar. Instructors don't speak good English (especially Tommamu). If you have looked at Tomamu, just up the road there is Sahoro. The clubmed there is all inclusive of food, lift charges, instructors. You join the class in the morning and ski with people of your same ability, all included in the price of your accomodation (which is more expensive than backpacking though I must admit). Having been to most major places on Hokkaido, I would really

  11. difficult to do that if you have to book in advance. Flights to Sapporo are very hard to book.
  12. The thing I need to clear up is the ABS. I seen on TV that ABS does not work on snow. Police driver on a documentary program. Now, if my hire car comes with ABS, then this would be useless. Also, I've seen on the Toyota Prius that there is a snow driving mode. Is this effective? Can I trust it? I do brake gently and keep a good distance from car infront. I don't accelerate harshly just to keep the fuel costs down.
  13. will Toyota Rentals have snow tires. Im thinking driving from airport t resort and then go different resorts each day.
  14. it will be a hire car, so don't know if they have the snow tires or not. Ordinary tires OK?
  15. ah sorry, I don't write too clearly sometimes.
  16. Im thinking of hiring a car to drive to drive around on my ski holiday. Are there special things to be aware of when driving on snow? Like ABS settings and stuff like that.
