Anyone Keen to Hike or Ski Fuji?
Jynxx replied to mitchpee's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
Mt.Fuji first desent was in the mid 70´s by a skier Mr.Miura. There is a reason that it hadn´t get slidden for that long. -
Point is. I wouldn´t consider spending money and investing in a company that does´t do much for their customers. and squeezing out more out of you

Yeah that´s right. Not everyone can buy a new mac every 2 years. I did´t expect to do a OS major update twice in 5 years, and they apparently didn´t work well for some people who did it. I stuck to my original Os that came with it. If your opinion is based on the latest models and you don´t know past history, you haven´t learnt anything yourself. Very typical. Sucked in lol

Cautionary Tale
Jynxx replied to Ricco's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
Interesting... In some situations, the path of least resistance (physically easier) can kill you. Stamina is a funny thing... you find it when shit really hits the fan. -
Apple is shit. They will get money out of you on any opportunity. Mac is overpriced, their original hardware from apple stores are overpriced. the phone support suck, Os upgrade suck and Os disk is incompatible with other notebook models. If you scratch your disk you have to buy one. Best thing I did was to smash mine.

oh, oh ..Floydian slip. playing with myself lol . playing by myself . -
Definitely promblem as i see it is - they don´t maintain the course we are on being on the T-bar. Gets shredded, bumpy, uneven that it can catch your edge sometimes. Have been on a T-bar that goes up 40 degrees, it´s not too bad but very intimidating. I had some steering problems ( still do sometimes ) and fell into the trees and nearly into a tree well. Nearly into a brook, too. There are some dodgy ones with no nets to catch you ...

lol. I had a bit more brain .. Was very careful with them. It was a common accident amongst japanese kids to peel out powder from fireworks and collect them ... lots of idiots lost their eyes poking powder in a glass bottle . Actually made a shotgun myself .. that was a bit too much since firearms are a big no no. The most stupid thing that happened to me was, I was playing with myself tryingto improve on the technique of lighting up a chinese cracker (very short fuse) and throwing it .. one was so quick I really had to flick it away ... ended up on the road and a police car ran over it. mmmm I was a defalt leader (cos me been 10) and the others were 8 and we used to light fireworks during the day. We carried our own matches. Ended up with a few blood blisters on our fingers. We made rocket launchers, rocket propelled miniture cars, shot them towards eachother on the ground, all in daylight. Did any of the adults come to stop us? No. Thank god for growing up in Japan at that time. -

Actually, not everyone likes to go off piste (in Europe...or Japan for that matter) But you can rent them in Europe when that resort is renowned for freeriding Boots, my missus and I will never hire. Too personal and fit matters! We will leave a pair here in Europe, another pair in Japan with our folks. Boards, I don´t mind. Would like to try new ones (for hire or free demo) if the specs suit me or there is a particular model. ie: Dupraz D1, Pogo, Rossi experience, Jones solution, F2 eliminator. Apo apocalipse FirstAid kit - if you don´t have it on you, what´s the point of talking abou -
I haven´t been on a 8er yet. It´s not that common ..But most are 6er and quads, There´s a local run that has 2quads, 1 single that has no foot rest, and 12 T- bars. I like this resort myself, but I really wish they put a padded T bar. They are really designed for skiers in mind. btw, I find it is more stable and easier to ride a T bar with a partner. maybe because we are lightweight. Do you find that. or like to ride it yourself?

I think this is the same situation with whatever manufacturer you go with. Be it ABS, Snowpulse, Mammut, BCA. Also the IATA air carriage rules apply ... Is the carriage of a filled cartridge… Cartridge Non-Refillable 300 Bar Steel Cartridge Refillable 207 Bar Alu …allowed on flights according to the IATA’s regulations? YES NO …allowed on flights to the USA/Canada? YES NO …allowed on domestic flights within Canada? YES YES So on top of this, there is an air cartridge certification. I reck -

Entertaining vid, Scislone I see you were trying to get as much speed as possible ... pretty flat, thought you might get stuck They are not bad, like you said if there´s no one ahead of you. Dodgy when passing a slow skier or a fast skier passing you. Something we do at the end of the day here in Europe. Getting down from the middle station to the base station. Can get bumpy and then it´s no fun. -

That happens with retirement age and superannuation ... Can´t really be sure about planning for the future. It´s all about servicing debts. -
