I went there a few Christmases ago and enjoyed it despite the lack of early snowfall, but then it was a bluebird day so everything looked bootiful! Not sure you can actually get in that open onsen in the middle of town but there are plenty of small, freebie ones scattered around that you can use though I seem to remember them being flippin' HOT!!

Saw Rush at the cinema the other week (the story of the James Hunt/Niki Lauda fight for the '76 F1 world championship), which was good and also saw Prometheus on dvd, which was ok.

Yeah, it is nice up there if the weather's good. Plus it's usually quiet as it's a bit of climb/hike up, so there's less chance of someone else seeing the down on bended knee shinanigans ;-) Good luck and let us know how it goes!!!

I think I must have jinxed the warm weather because down in Kanagawa it's been cold, grey, wet and miserable all weekend - very British-like!! :-(

Was freezing my nuts off walking around Sapporo this morning so tbh, I'm looking forward to a bit of Kanagawa warmth b4 trying to hit the slopes again next week.

Was staying near Nakajima koen and ended up going with the hostel owner to "ebisoba" where I had the best (albeit only) shrimp ramen I've ever had - umakatta yo~ Definitely need to spend more time checking out Sapporo and its many eating/drinking spots!

So reading between the (many) lines, is ippy actually missing Japan??? Back to topic, I've wanted to try some of the boards previously mentioned including a Fish and its baby brother, the Fishcuit, but my own personal preference is my current ride, a Prior Khyber!!

The nearest izakaya is the only place I'm going tonight ;-)

I lost mine today in some Kokusai porridge!

I liked Kokusai but the sun was warming things up way too much for my liking, so took an early bath. I'm planning a Niigata sortie in the next fortnight so maybe this is the year I pop my cherry ;-) When does it close?

I'd ask him to write mine but the word count's not big enough!!

I'm more cruisy than gnarly - the only bowl I hit was full of ramen!! Now on the bus to Kokusai :-)

It was alright. Not much untracked left to play in in the steep lines but ended having lots of fun in the "Natural" course trees. Am not to gamble on that Makomanai bus running 2moro so will get a Sapporo to Kokusai shuttle bus instead.
