  1. I am planning on coming over in Jan 2011 and I am already sniffing around looking for the best places to stay at a reasonable cost at various resorts. Once I have flights booked in Jan next year I will certainly be wanting to secure accommodation for my family asap. Waiting for places to open bookings mid year would probably mean they won't get a look in for our business.
  2. Hi John I have had a similar situation. In the end I have had to spend most of my day skiing with my wife and helping her gain the confidence to allow her to absorb what the instructors are telling her. I have lost a lot of my free ski time while the kids are in ski school but I am looking long term to the day when we can all ski together all over the mountain. Good luck!!!!
  3. Thanks people for the suggestions. The kids would like the bullet train ride and seeing the monkeys, so the main island might be the go. I have some how organised 2 ski trips in the next 10 months (not sure how i got that through the board of control, aka the misses) so by the time we get to Japan hopefully the kids will only need a 2 or 3 days worth of instruction and then we can all rip together. With Dad slipping away at times to ski some real stuff on his own!!!
  4. I have found the info interesting. It was not a waste of time folks. I am bring the family over in 2011. Really can't decide where to go, Niseko, Furano, Naeba, Nowza, they all look great! Kids will be 8 & 10 and they will have been skiing 3 times previous. Just wanted to get them very mobile before we hit japan because english ski school seems to be a bit lacking other than in Niseko. Also hoping their fussy eating habits might disappear by then.
