  1. OK I'm back now so sorry to be silent for so long, had a miscarriage and hoping to be pregars next year - hence the trip to Japan before we pop a baby out. THANKS to everyone who did reply and as I was new to these forums I have no idea how to get notifications sent to my email so I know when people have replied. We are heading to Hakuba GORYU - 47 and staying at Aqua Alpine Hotel, just started a new topic on the bullet train. Sorry to be so slient.
  2. I'm a newbie on here and have been looking at the forums since hubby and I decided that Japan 2010 would be our next big trip overseas (we are in Sydney Australia). Hakuba seems to be our choice for our first trip to Japan, specifically GORYU - 47. We are looking at staying at the Aqua Alpine Hotel. My main question is getting from the international airport in Tokyo to Hakuba. From all of my research on the internet it looks like the best way is by bullet train. Does anyone know the details, where do we get the train from? How long it takes? Do we need to change trains/lines? How much it

  4. I'm new to these forums, so please be gentle with me. I've been looking at some of the topics but can't seem to find what I'm after. My husband and I are thinking about a trip to Japan for skiing in the New Year (2010). We are keen skiers in Australia and take about 3 trips each winter. We are fairly confident skiers but would love to try Japan just for the a different experience. Can anyone recommend a first experience for us. Most of what I've looked up says that Niseko is the 'little Australia' and we would prefer not to go there because of this. Any recommendations would be greatly app
