The latest Nozawa Now report can be found here . It's another very cold morning here in Nozawa and I have more fresh to report too... since yesterday the resort is reporting 15-23cm of fresh snow across the mountain. They're also reporting a temperature of -12C at Yamabiko as of 8am. Just generally cloudy conditions as I write this report approaching 9am, and we're not really expecting much in terms of snow today. More just cloud and it should be remaining cold. Looks like tomorrow should be a cracker with sun on the forecast and getting a bit warmer as well, hopefully not too much. Then it's back to snow falling Friday and Saturday so continued fresh conditions looks likely. Not heavy snow but a bit of snow, the resort reporting up to 20cm on upper slopes, 10cm mid mountain and just a bit at base. It is still snowing now but expected to stop this morning leaving us with a cloudy day and temperature hovering around freezing point down here in the village. Tomorrow expect sun and enjoy it while you can because from Sunday onwards the next lot of snow is due to start falling and continue into next week. I would say some Nozawa-rashii snowfall might be on the cards come Monday. Light north westerly wind this morning, not too cold this morning; limited visibility to start the day higher up in particular but that should clear up. Going to be another busy weekend. Uenotaira area of Nozawa reports over 50cm of snowfall since yesterday morning, with at least 30cm of fresh fallen across the mountain. Oh yes, it'll be deep out there this morning. It isn't too cold either. Actually it feels relatively mild down here at base this morning, but snow is falling still and it's not looking likely to quit just yet. The local forecast says that it'll ease off this afternoon, to be followed by clear and sunny conditions tomorrow. If you can extend the weekend by the day you will be richly rewarded. The latest Nozawa Now report can be found here . Snow awaited me though with a nice layer of new snow on the ground - resort reporting up to 35cm in places since yesterday morning. It has been snowing this morning but as I write this now there's a few breaks in the cloud and even a bit of sunshine as well. Snow is the forecast for the day though, with a chance of heavy snowfall conditions later and overnight. Perhaps easing off later tomorrow. But after the chance of some sun early week, it'll be back to snow mid week. Sounds good to me. I'm off up the mountain now! Until tomorrow. (Children of junior high and younger can use the lifts for free tomorrow). It's much colder this morning and there's some fresh snow on the ground - Nozawa is reporting 10-15cm across the mountain. Snow forecast for all day today though right now there's actually a bit of blue sky on show and the sun peeking through as well in places. Almost feels like it could clear up but the clouds should be back and delivering sooner than later and I expect to bring you some more numbers in the report tomorrow. The latest Nozawa Now report can be found here . It's a beauty of a morning in Nozawa and by the looks of it in wider areas as well. Blue skies, sunny, hardly any cloud at all. All looking very tempting. The resort is full on this weekend with no lifts taking a break and no doubt it's going to be a busy few days. It is a cold start to the day but it should start to feel warmer as the day goes on especially if the sun stays out for the day. Low positive temperature numbers expected later on today and tomorrow too, though generally more cloud tomorrow. Fresh snow by the end of tomorrow as well hopefully. Have fun and take care. The top areas from the resort this morning report 10cm of fresh snow, with 5cm on Hikage. Just a thin dusting down at base. It's all a bit... mild feeling just at the moment. Over the weekend we are told to expect the warmest temperatures of the year so far especially on Sunday and there may even be rain at higher elevations as well. We can only hope that won't happen. Before then though, is that the chance of heavy snow I see on some forecasts tonight? It looks like it might be. Let's see, I will fill you in on that tomorrow morning. Right now, lots of cloud, some blue sky here and there. The webcam seems to show early morning foggy conditions on upper areas. The latest Nozawa Now report can be found here . It's a cold morning here in Nozawa but the sun is out and we are treated to beautiful blue skies, something of a contrast with yesterday. A beautiful Monday morning and should be good for the day, perhaps clouding over a bit but end up being quite mild. Cloud due tomorrow but fresh snow is just around the corner once again, should be falling on us Wednesday and Thursday. This morning over on the Kandahar East Course from 9:30am, there's a 'let's try alpine pole course' kind of thing going on. Should be an interesting experience. Temperatures remain mild but the resort is reporting 20-35cm of fresh snow across the mountain this morning so fresh to play in. Might get a bit more this morning but it will likely ease and tomorrow we're expecting sunshine. And warmer conditions. Then on Sunday... warmer conditions again. With a good chance of rain. Yikes, that doesn't sound so good. If you are hitting Nozawa one day this weekend I'd definitely be choosing Saturday myself. As we get into next week, it should start to get colder again though for now not a whole lot of snow on the forecast.
