Independent snow and weather reporting from the Nozawa Onsen region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 20cm
Snowfall at base this season 956cm

Posted on Friday 20th February 2015 This is an archived report. The latest Nozawa Now report can be found here.

A good surprise this morning. Temperatures remain mild but the resort is reporting 20-35cm of fresh snow across the mountain this morning so fresh to play in.

Might get a bit more this morning but it will likely ease and tomorrow we're expecting sunshine. And warmer conditions. Then on Sunday... warmer conditions again. With a good chance of rain. Yikes, that doesn't sound so good. If you are hitting Nozawa one day this weekend I'd definitely be choosing Saturday myself.

As we get into next week, it should start to get colder again though for now not a whole lot of snow on the forecast.
