Some cloud still but it's definitely a good start to the day. Very cold. Early tracks should be awesome too. Forecast says more snow due later on so those snow clouds should be back. It shouldn't be as cold from Sunday as well. The resort is talking about a new item for New Year called PowArch located at the top of Powderwave II. Instructions are to shout Pow Pow when you use it. Now you know! Certainly looks worth a try anyway. The latest Madarao Now report can be found here . Yesterday was... disappointing. Rain. We don't like rain. It's rubbish. But anyway happily I can report that it is now snowing. Hurray! Madarao reporting 15cm, not quite as much down where I am. If we can get a decent amount on the ground today to cover up damage done yesterday, it should be good for the weekend. The snow isn't due to continue right through though and may clear up sooner than we hope for. Come on snow, lots please. Tomorrow the sun should be out. So even if there isn't a thick new layer of fresh powder, the weather conditions should be good. The latest Madarao Now report can be found here . Yesterday was one better forgotten in the big picture (smaller picture too actually!)... rain is not fun in mid winter. Happily, this morning we have a white cover to make us feel better, and Madarao Kogen is reporting 10-15cm of fresh snow on the mountain. It's still snowing now and due to be for the day, perhaps easing late on. Definitely colder this morning after those few days of warmer conditions. Tomorrow we might see more sun, but Frtiday onwards it's looking like a run of days with snow snow and more snow. Lots of potential there. Should be a good weekend. The latest Madarao Now report can be found here . What a great day it was yesterday. Maybe not absolutely perfect powder conditions, but the weather was amazing and I can't imagine people not enjoying it out there. Check out the photo below that the resort posted. Beautiful. This morning, it doesn't look like that! Not yet anyway. It's cloudy to start with. A thin layer of snow overnight - resort report 5cm - and cloud hanging over the mountain. Might it clear up and the sun appear again? It might, says some local forecasts. Tomorrow milder temps are due but by night it should cold down again and snow to fall on Tuesday and Wednesday. (Rain might come before that, but let's just hope the forecast is wrong on that score!) Take care and have a good Sunday. It wasn't that busy yesterday so that and those grooming folk (where they're allowed!) will have got it all pretty for the beginning of the weekend. The latest Madarao Now report can be found here . Fresh snow! Resort reporting 20cm of snow on the mountain this morning and nearly that down at base areas too. Lots of cloud still around but it's now snowing just now and there's even a bit of sun sneaking in there at times. Forecast is for the snow to stop and leave us with generally cloudy conditions today and then more sun tomorrow. Back to snow Sunday night with some significant refreshes due through Monday and possibly beyond.
