After some whispers and opinions about whether the ski area could remain open through Golden Week, I have confirmed news... it can't.

The ski area is still open with just the top Chuo runs available though there's not a whole lot of people still playing in the remaining snow now.

Well, a little late, but there was some fresh snow over the weekend... around 10cm in town areas and probably more on the mountain. How about that, then?!

Beautiful clear blue skies this morning across the region.

The day is starting off with very light snow falling and fog higher up. Quite thick and not easy to see.

A surprise covering overnight. Unsurprisingly, the Chuo and Paradise slopes have more with everywhere else having various degrees of crunch underneath.

Anyone here just needs to look out the window to see that a sunny day is ahead of us so lenses for a very bright day.

A small amount last night but together with yesterday's keeps the higher slopes softer.

Temperatures have taken a plunge and it is snowing albeit lightly. A bit more tonight but only a bit.

The sun is out albeit the 2nd ropeway to the summit is going into cloud. Cloud is drifting in and out but a lovely morning.

The sun is creeping slowly upwards, however, upper levels still have fog but able to see ahead of you except for some murkiness at Paradise, Utopia and upper Kurohime.

Fortunately, the rain yesterday was followed by snow so at least a covering (slightly more higher up).

A bit hard to read how today will turn out!

It is, and will be snowing a bit more meaningfully today although lightly (but with bigger flakes than yesterday's pin-pricks).
